Except Nik is actually really good.
My comment was more about what I'm sure we'll see from a small segment of Nik fans. It's part and parcel of what you get when player fans arrive to root for their guy. It's understandable to a certain extent, but it can try the patience of those whose allegiance is to the name on the front and not the name on the back.

I'm glad this is the first Summer League game I've watched this year. Stauskas looks like exactly the marksman he was billed to be, McLemore is in top form with his lightning fast scoring strikes (still too sloppy with the ball though), McCallum is running the team like a pro, Acy is screaming to the heavens, Williams is scoring from everywhere, and Eric "the pogo stick" Moreland looks like a nice find. Nothing to worry about guys! :)

I caved and spoiled myself by checking the box score. Looks like ray has the offense rolling. Hope this is a sign of things to come. Ok, back to not reading comments and box scores. Ill watch in the morning when it airs on tv.

Nik was the most impressive, game comes naturally to him, doesnt force anything, generally makes the right play, great stroke. This is the same thing we said about Jimmer but Nik has the NBA frame. I'd like to see him work on a more explosive first step, if he can do that, with his shooting and ball handling he will be a real nice player. He will look much better playing with Cuz, Gay and Collison also. Also his defense while not great is fundamentally pretty sound. High IQ players worry me less also, they tend to pick up team defense concepts well.

Ben seems to look better when he's getting more shots, so I think he should come off the bench, where he will be a bigger focal point in the offense, I would trust Nik in a catch and shoot off a Cuz double over McLemore.

Nik was smart and efficient. In terms of overall game impact I'd probably rank them in this order:

1 Ray McCallum - after an awful first quarter, he settled in and did a good job finding looks for everyone
2 Ben McLemore - had a nice scoring run to get us back in the game and another run to put it out of reach, contributed on the boards as well
3 Derrick Williams - finally started to assert himself with an 11 point third quarter by doing what he's supposed to do -- stay active and finish plays
4 Nik Stauskas - he already looks like a veteran with how he chooses his spots, plays within himself, and makes quick decisions with the ball in his hands
5 Eric Moreland - does a lot of the same things Acy does, but he's got legit size for a post enforcer and an even better motor
6 Quincy Acy - you can't knock this guy's effort. 6 fouls and 3 turnovers but he's 6'7" playing small-ball center. helped Ray to rack up the assists as he kept finding himself unguarded near the basket

Everybody looked good today though, so it's like choosing your favorite grandchild.

even in Summer League Jimmer couldn't dribble the ball.

Jimmer and Nik should never be mentioned in the same post again
As players, there's no comparison. Agreed. But whenever new fans come in and say "give player X the ball and just get out of the way" it's probably going to conjure up bad flashbacks of Jimmer-mania for quite awhile.

Well I was just making a comparison to the last great shooter we had. Jimmer was a high IQ player too that generally mad the right play, he was just so limited because of his size and slow feet. If Jimmer was 6'6 like Nik, they would actually be comparable as propects. As I see it right now I see Nik as a hybrid of Klay/Belinelli as his ceiling, we'll see.
