Rumor mill heating up June 19

I read the following that indicates "something is physically wrong" with Sanders:

Contrary to a report, the market for Sanders is virtually non-existent as he not only has been plagued by off-court issues — he is expected to enter a rehab facility this summer — but will be entering the first of a four-year, $44 million contract next season.

I'm all for giving guys second chances but not at 11 million a year,
Maybe this is my misunderstanding, but you post as though this is new news to you. Also, isnt going to rehab a good thing?

I don't see why so many outlets are running with that "story" that "trade" simply cannot happen, so it's baseless really.

The only thing that comes to mind is that we keep hush on it until July 1st and draft for PHX as well as negotiate a contract for IT which PHX and IT are good with then shipping him at that time.

Can rehab faclility be for anger issues or something similar rather than strictly alchole/drug abuse? Or is the term rehab facility strictly meant for drugs?
I doubt it's just for anger. Usually drug/alcohol abuse causes the anger and you can't even start working on anger issue (if he has them) until the drug/alcohol abuse is taken care of.

Yes and no. Yes that he's trying to get help and no that he's having to go there in the first place which is a major red flag that future issues of this nature are most likely to happen since short rehab stints have the worst relapse %s. Not sure if he's doing the 3 month thing but I assume he's not.

Yeah, if that's a drug problem that would be that. And that contract would bounce right up as worst/unmoveable in the league. You might take a chance on a druggie on a 1yr make good experiment. You aren't going to lock yourself into one at $11 mil a year for another 4 years.

The report I linked to suggests the market for Sanders is non-existent. I hope Sanders comes back clean and plays great for the Bucks. Like Brick, I just don't want the Kings on the line for four years 44 million if things don't work out.

I would like to see the Kings trade up and get Vonleh.

I thought it was the other way around doesn't anger, anxiety, low self esteem cause people to drink and abuse drugs in the first place?

Well, yeah, that and turn to the Dark Side of the Force. Anybody who still wants to trade for Darth Sanders, raise your hand!

I still might and here's why, basketball might be the thing that could help him overcome these problems (while helping us on the court),if Larry really loves basketball than the one place on earth where he escape reality without doing drugs is on the basketball court. A recent AFL player (Aussie football) who retired by the name of "Big Bad" Barry Hall said the love of the sport actually helped him overcome anger issues/other problems and now he's a fairly sane commentator.

Is it a conicdence that everything in his life kind of fell apart when he got injured and could not do what he loves maybe?

Huge risk but, I don't know I'm kind of bias and always had a soft spot for Larry, I like his passion/defence and I like characters in basketball. I'd still do him and Brandon Knight if we get rid of Landry and IT. His value is literally rock bottom atm so I still say we take a shot at it.

Also is he entering rehab due to league policy cause he failed a test for weed or on his own?

I'm pretty sure nothing would fell apart in my life if I had a 44 millions contract, even if I wouldn't be able to play basketball...

Anyways, I would still take the gamble on Sanders if he had a better contract, but his 11 milions per year are too risky for me.

I would think that suggests something is mentally wrong, not physically. Sounds like substance abuse. I'd still take the chance if the price was right and he's willing to work on his problems. Anytime I've heard him speak, he actually sounds intelligent enough and not really a douche, which means there might be hope, but actions have spoken louder than words so far.
At a 4 year $44 million, its a risk not worth taking. I have been screaming out at getting a shotblocker for years and was ropable when we let Dalembert go so we could sign Chuck ****ing Hayes, but not at ANY cost. Certainly the right type of player but wrong character by all reports. Sanders without his problems, I would definitely want and would not blink at the price but Sanders with problems, I would not want!

Funny you mention Barry Hall who no doubt had anger issues but Sanders could easily end up as Ben Cousins! Sanders has already violated league's drug policy a number of times and has publicly come out and said he sees weed as a medicine. Doesn't sound like someone who gets it!

Your crazy Klohe is the only one is consider marrying out of them the rest would be for sex.
You've got some deep issues if, not only would you consider marrying one of the Kardashians(and it's not about the money, because she wouldn't be your first choice if that were the case), but that Khloe would be the only one you'd consider. Lol

I see Marcus Thornton is on the move again. Cleveland for Jarret Jack.
Mildy interesting just because Jack was discussed here last year, and if it happens now who knows, maybe it would have been possible then. Of course that's us reaccumulating stacks of Petriesque bad midlevel contracts at a certain point.
