Kings active in trade talks?

Well this sucks. Mason and Terry will both probably never play a game here so we essentially swapped Thornton for Reggie Evans and now we have a roster with 50% power forwards.

Well, crud. I had hoped that the Kings would be able to move a few more pieces. Not sure I'm happy about the Thornton trade at this point and disappointed that Jimmer and Thompson are still on the roster.

Could the FO have ruined team chemistry any more? JT and Jimmer now can confirm they're basically unwanted (here and elsewhere). Not news to JT, they've been trying to replace since the day he got here. Yet to do it.

Only Ben and Cuz heard from the FO they are wanted., Ben clearly and they've been consistent about cuz since the offseason. Everyone else knew they were on the block. Everyone. That's uncomfortable. The selfish play isn't that surprising.

They (FO) were just a tad too open in their feelings about the trade deadline in my view.

Could be a good thing for the draft hounds. This might put a stop to any surge we might have seen to end the year.

JT and Jimmer knew they were unwanted from the beginning of the season. Jimmer has been on the block since forever and the Landry signing looked like another effort to supplant JT in the lineup.

The IT trade attempts did surprise me a little bit.

The message toward our pg was strange to say the least. Is he our guy? Is he not? I'd like to know. I'm sure pizza guy would to, both the pizza guy himself and his sponsor.

Specifically re:rondo rumors, PDA made it very clear they won't trade Ben. By omission, it was clear our pg could be moved. If he's our guy, that's an odd way of showing it.

But yes sactown kid. It certainly makes for a dysfunctional environment for the rest of the season. I can't even be cynical enough to think that's intentional.

Ugh, Jarrett Jack talk reopening in the waning hours. Please don't do something stupid, PDA.

Edit: I'm not okay with a Jack for Thompson swap. I'm okay with a Jack for Jimmer/Gray deal, even though the salary is bad. Jack isn't a bad backup guard, just overpaid.

Oh well... I don't think it's for a lack of trying, but I just don't think we had anything worth trading for.. We have to let the others expire and just work with the core we have,.

Fail deadline
Fire the FO

Lets hope we make a couple last minute trades during draft
Like IT and co for Exum?

I bet the FO figured out today and yesterday that players do NOT want to come here. I am sure there were a couple trades nixed by the actual players being traded.

Most of them don't get a say. There are very few contracts with a no-trade or right of first refusal clause. If you're traded, you play, or you don't get paid.

I've been really upbeat toward this front office, but I think this is a huge fail. You have given what I think are clear votes of no confidence to IT, JT, and Jimmer... and there they are - hanging out with the players you DO want to perform and develop for the next couple months. Now we have to keep up our enthusiasm with a team in tank mode but still carrying dead wood thru the trade deadline. Just a let down that they could not move JT and Jimmer anyway - for ANYTHING at all.

Well, this roster is, um, interesting.

I can't wait to see IT gun it for his next contract. Yes, BMc will get more playing time, but if he keeps getting into early foul trouble, then what?
I guess it's kinda funny that we went from a team of 8 SG to 8 PF, but not "haha" funny. I think we can create a more cohesive nightly lineup, but it will involve splitting some of IT's 40 minutes per game a little better amongst Jimmer/Ray, and if the FO is committed to play the kids, then this could still be a valuable experience.

All this, and now I have a hunch that Cousins won't come back until he's fully healthy. Which is fine by me.

I expect Jimmer's playtime to go away in favor of Ray, but I also expected Jimmer to be traded, so I think my prognostication license is about to be revoked.
