Kings active in trade talks?

Ooh, just saw Gibson was in that group too. Again, I'm skeptical he's actually available, but he'd be a great fit next to Cousins. If you can somehow put together a starting 5 of: Cousins/Gibson/Gay/Afflalo/[pretty much any PG here], I'd be a happy camper moving forward.

It might, and hopefully could mean that JT has once again shown just enough that they envision him as the 3rd big now. 6'11" PF/C = perfect third big.
It's a shame. JT has to prove himself to every coach he has had. Best part is no matter what coach, what system, what new player they get to replace him. It's never long before JT is once again the starter.

That is the reason I respect JT. I see the flaws as much ad anybody but I also see a player tried and true. Nobody can say he has never given 100%

He's probably not as reliable as other writers, but any rumor that mentions Landry as a possible player moved will get a post by me.:)

Could this really be happening? Is it possible that the front office realizes that this was a bad signing? Let's hope so!

Afflalo would be a tempting piece to put next to Cousins and Gay. Enough to give up Ben? I'm not sure, but in some ways he's the best-case scenario for how Ben would fit next to those two.
Afflalo is definitely a perfect match/ 3rd option. A career 40% 3 point shooter who plays great defense and can create.

The only problem is he will opt next year and we would have to resign him and gay around 12/15mill per and with DMC at 15 we wouldn't be able to offer another contract of 10mill.

Maybe Landry and Jimmer for Jack? Landry and Jack are a wash, both got contracts from their play last year with GS. Jack seems to absolutely love Malone, from what we saw in the Cleveland game. Neither seem to be working out well on their new teams, maybe using Jimmer to sweeten the deal would get the Cavs to bite.

Now explain why ...
Houston wants Asik gone. They always liked Landry. Denver wants miller gone with little salary coming back. They get expiring jimmer. Orlando wants olidipo to be sg of future. IT would help with pace with the oft injured Nelson slowing with age.

Also if we are shopping landry I would offer him to the bucks for sanders
One of the several major pieces the Bucks are missing is a reliable low post scoring presence. Landry's size wouldn't be a huge disadvantage in the east, either.

I still don't want Sanders because of locker room issues and the size of his contract.

Milwaukee is also Carl's hometown team. That said, I need to see a bit more from Sanders this year before I leapt into a deal for him because that deal is ugly otherwise.

so, um, rumours of the Kings possibly going after Josh Smith? not a big fan of those right now.
i think kings fans are going to have to modulate their expectations in the coming weeks. PDA has stated that he would be aggressive in trade talks, and, largely, he has lived up to that claim. i think he's going to consider every avenue, and make every phone call in the spirit of doing the diligence prior to the trade deadline. i don't like the idea of bringing in josh smith, either, but outsized rumors often result from simple inquiry...

a hypothetical call from sacramento to detroit that consists of nothing more than, "hey, just checking in before the deadline" leaks out into the resulting rumor that "the kings are pursuing josh smith," because josh smith has been terrible in detroit, and most believe that the pistons would now prefer to trade the ridiculous contract they gave him if they could. that said, PDA showed a willingness to pull the trigger on something as ambitious as the rudy gay trade. it's possible that he wants to try the "buy low" magic again...

the comment was really only intended to express dismay at Smith's performance thus far. it's pretty unlikely, imo, that PDA actually goes after him, there's simply no cap room for him. never mind the less than optimal fit (or the fact that the Kings still have roughly 16 PFs on the roster, at least one of which also is a SF/PF hybrid).

For sake of comparison, if Geoff Petrie had the assets that currently D'Allesandro has, would he be a better general manager?
Hey I'm pretty happy with Pete. But if Vivek and Company had decided to give Petrie a year or two I would have been on board.

I know this is not a popular opinion but so be it:)
