Strange that in a situation so clear cut on film that this is on the docket. He’s one of the few pieces SAC has that *can* defend

Basically, it's his teammate's fault and IT will be an All Star in 2-3 years who *can* defend.

So it is Gray, Laundry and Jimmer that allowed Conley to go off? I am pretty sure Jimmer and Conley weren't in the game that much together and Laundry and Gray are bigs. What the hell.....

I just looked at the play by play. Conley scored 2 points and had 1 assist while Jimmer was in the game. Probably His fault though.

Even our pgs most ardent fans don't claim he's one of the kings best defenders.

I'd love to give up 27 and 10 to the guy I'm guarding and have it be everyone else's fault.

Popcornmachine. net has the matchups. Jimmer and Conley were on the floor together a bit in the 2nd quarter. Otherwise Malone pulls Jimmer when a offensive beast like Conley steps on the floor. Bruski's claims don't hold water. Bigs can't cover a feisty PG!!! They can help but IT has to recover on those picks and get back on defense sooner than he currently does.

I do like Malone. I hope he's the Kings' coach for many many years. That said, he's got a steep learning curve, especially in the PR aspect of dealing with the press. A few weeks ago, he said, "We're a bad team." This is not what I would recommend. It's fine by me to say: "We're playing very badly." But to say, "We're a bad team," makes it sound as if there is no hope; we're doomed for eternity.

Now Malone is describing himself as a hypocrite because he's giving minutes to guys who don't play D. Well, he just boxed himself in. Now if the team doesn't perform defensively, everybody is going to point the finger at him, not the team, because it was Malone that allocated the minutes to guys not playing defense: he's the hypocrite. I hope that he can get himself out of the box he created.

I'm sure it was mentioned in the thread. I could also see this more as throwing the gauntlet down on PDA. When you look down at the bench for defense and all you find is more offensive, it becomes offensive and frustrating.

Not sure I love the idea of playing Acy and Landry major minutes together, but if we're starting JT, that may be necessary.

Interesting that Malone credits Landry's defense. Supports my theory that he was fully behind the Landry signing, despite it seemingly being a poor fit. Of course, saying Landry is one of the better defenders on this team doesn't actually say all that much!

I really wish we could have some sort of "try a coach" week. It'd make a great reality show too. Popovic coaching us for a week and then we hear what he has to say.

Say what you want about Marcus Smart, but having him in a Kings uniform next year would really help Malone out with the leadership on the defensive side of the ball. He would be a nice ally for our distraught coach.

Is bruski ok? Mental breakdown? What's the deal? He was fine with bashing cousins, but he's just so certain the kings d problems are completely unrelated to our pg. That's not rational. No one on the team is a perfect defender.

I'd like to see opposing pg numbers vs their averages when playing the kings.

Does anybody, besides myself, find it ridiculous that IT gets 42 minutes playing time, including all 24 minutes in the 2nd half, the very next game after Coach Malone's statement that he couldn't continue to play players that weren't playing defense?

Color me confused.
