Maybe. He would be better than D'Daiye. He would give diversity to our culture.

Ray is playing really well so far. I think there's a decent chance he's our backup PG next season and it wouldn't surprise me if IT, Jimmer, and Vasquez all end up playing somewhere else. I get the impression Malone isn't thrilled with the way Jimmer and Vasquez are playing and IT is going to probably price himself out of our rebuild. And it was pretty clear Malone hand-picked McCallum as his guy in the second round.

Carmichael Dave is reporting that McCallum has been recalled from Reno. Trade in the works?
Would sure seems so. Otherwise, why bother sending him to Reno for a week? Unless they just wanted to get him on the floor for a couple of games, since it had been a while since he played in preseason.

I want to see him play with our guys

We're in an exciting, crazy time. Every little move keeps us all on our toes waiting for what happens next. I for one will be monitoring these boards/twitter until something happens!

I tell you what could bring increased fan interest at 'Arco' right away. Play McCallum, McLemore, Williams, Cousins, and say Patterson. IT sparking off the bench. Throw a young fun team out there and let them learn together

McCallum was a PDA pick all the way. He had been watching him for a few years.

Well, I guess it was clear that somebody hand-picked him. :) The way Malone talked about him, I just thought he was the instigator but I trust you know what you're talking about.

Sacramento to Reno is a short trip but I do think this move is more than just getting mileage for McCallum. What more I don't know but it will become apparent. This move plus D'Alessandro's comments plus the team situation right now all speak to trade of some kind going down soon like in the next two weeks. Now it's someone else's turn to pontificate.

Have always wondered how a poor d-league coach feels about that sort of thing. bad enough in baseball, where a minor league manager gets people yanked in and out of his lineup constantly with no control. But in basketball where you have plays and offensive systems, and cohesiveness and chemistry matter, to have a parent club just throwing a uy at you and saying play him, then pull him away to go practice with the big league club right when he needs to practice with you ad well, then throw him back at you and say play him again when all the guys who stayed and practiced and learned your system get benched for the guy sent down...I'd be kind of pissed.

Heh, well I guess it would be annoying if you were trying to win something, but I don't think anyone really cares who wins in the D-League. The only reason it exists is to develop talent for the NBA, and if the big league club is the one signing your paycheck, you're going to want to do whatever best serves their interest to keep them happy. I would hope that the team in Reno is running something close to the offense that Malone is running anyway so we can at least see if we've got somebody down there we can plug into a role should we have injury issues or just a general lack of roster depth. That's why it doesn't make a lot of sense for clubs to be sharing D-League teams like we were before. You want to be sure the coach down there is looking out for your interests not their own.
