During his first month on the job, new Atlanta Hawks General Manager Danny Ferry was able to trade away two cumbersome contracts and gain some flexibility for Atlanta's future. Ferry traded All-Star guard Joe Johnson and his albatross of a contract to the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for Jordan Farmar (who signed with a Turkish team after the Hawks bought him out), Anthony Morrow, Johan Petro, DeShawn Stevenson, Jordan Williams (who was waived) and a future second-round draft pick.
