The Heat aren;t hitting their shots, but really now -- people simply have to move into the modern era here. These aren't your father's Mavs. They are a good defensive squad now. Its why they are where they are. Much more serious squad than they were at any point in the Nellie years.

As an aside, can we kindly also quit all the stuff about small ball this and small ball that as well? Here we are, AGAIN, as we are every single year, with big frontlines playing for the title. Dallas and its trio of 7 footers banging around in there with Shaq and Zo, two of the best centers of the past 15 years. In the game of basketball, with a hoop suspended 9 feet off the floor, size will ALWAYS matter. Its the geometry of the game.

The Mavs are winning at home. I'll be impressed if/when they do the same thing in Miami.

Well, I'd be impressed if I was watching...

;)

during the season they played good defense... but in these first 2 games they have not.... posey and walker have missed 2-3 wide open threes.... whenever shaq is doubled he passes it to an open man who misses his shot... its not the mavs defense forcing walker to miss 3's and the rest of the team missing layups...

this has been a very ugly series so far.... mavs up 26 though...

there is still 2 more games. the mavs have been impressive thus far. jwill with all his athleticism still cannot stay in front of his opponent. he gets burned on picks

How can you not watch this?

Worry? I WANT Shaq to be swept and shut up.

Hey, I feel the same way. I'd much rather see the Mavs win it and keep the trophy in the West. But apparently the hatred for Mark Cuban is so intense among Kings fans that it overrides the fact that a man largely responsible for crushing our championship dreams is on the other team.

god please no. the image of avery/dirk and terry holding a trophy makes me nautious. miami better turn this thing around. and good lord, please no sweep.

Oh, indeed. Everyone got caught up in Phoenix and Dallas in the semis. Spurs simply weren't the same team as last season, and the Clippers didn't play the Suns well enough. Completely blowing it in G7, along with the Suns have 3 days of rest.

If the Heat don't come back here... which I basically doubt, I think Heat win at least two in Miami.

Pretty easily.

1. I hate and detest Mark Cuban.
2. I have NEVER liked Shaquille O'Neal.
3. I don't really care which one wins.
4. Did I mention I detest Mark Cuban?

I'm watching Poker Superstars and finding it a lot more enjoyable.

Shaq didn't crush MY championship dreams.

Robert Horry did. And our own absymal free throw shooting did but I don't really give Shaquille O'Neal any credit/blame.

You don't like Wade/Howard/Harris? Or just not enough to get you watching..

None of the players on either team are among my favorites in the league. If anything, I'd watch just to root for Jason Williams for old-time's sake. I may watch the shortened version on late tonight on ESPN.

I've been watching the NBA finals on ESPN Classic. I've found them pretty enjoyable. Of course, I liked the early ones best. The 1991 game with the Bulls winning their first trophy AND defeating the Lakers was wonderful, simply wonderful - even if the center for the Lakers was named Divac.

Not to look too far into this, but D-Wade just seems like one of those "Excellent player who will do everything he can but never win a ring" type.

Wade/Howard/Harris are a blast to watch... *shrugs*

Yeah, so did I (ESPN Classic), a few at least... They're quite fun to watch. I taped most of them.

Well, you did. ;)

TWO games into the NBA Finals, and 3 seasons into his career. Who knows what this series is after 2 or 3 games in Miami.

Also, Wade will add the three pointer to his game over the next couple summers, and continue to improve on the 2-pt jumper, which is already good.

I like Terry and Stackhouse. I don't mind Dirk. I Love J-will and like Wade. I can't stand Posey or walker and would prefer Shaq not to win another ring this year. Can't stand Cuban, but I LOVE Avery Johnson.

It is lose/lose situation for me, I DO NOT WANT either TEAM TO WIN. I'll be happy for Avery if the Mavs win and happy for Jason if the Heat win, but will be bummed in the end NO MATTER which team wins.

If the Mavs win, we have an ENTIRE season of listening to Cuban and watching his ego grow. If the the Heat win, we have an entire season of listening to the experts talk about how dominate Shaq is. Gonna hate it either way!!

I believe Wade will end up with a ring or two before he is done. I expect him to win more than Lebron or Melo.

And that, interestingly enough, is one of the reasons I would root FOR Miami. Not because of Shaq and his ego, but for what I'm sure it would do to Kobe.

Okay, I have a few reasons for saying this (again, just based on a "feeling"):
-Wade never won in Marquette, despite taking his team to the Final Four. I'm not saying it's his fault, just saying that's what happened, and history tends to repeat itself.
-I'm 95% confident the Mavs will take the series.
-After this year, Shaq, obviously on the downhill, will continue to slide, rapidly closing Miami's "window" (HA! Some other team has a window too!), as a team with Williams, Wade, and Walker seems far from a championship team. Miami will have to make some big moves to get someone of Shaq's caliber back, and those kinds of moves come once in a lifetime.
-Okay, this is where the "feeling" comes in: Wade's one of those people that you can tell doesn't need a championship to have a terrific career and life. He's happy with consistent excellence, as he should be. I'm not saying he's satisfied, just saying that he won't need a championship to validate his career.

Who knows, maybe Wade will get a ring next year and prove me wrong, but I just have a hunch where his career is headed.

I agree on the last point, but just gonna have to agree/disagree on the rest. On Shaq, I think he has 1-2 years left.

yaya!!! im dont hate the mavs as mcuh as i used too and plus i don't want shaq to win another championship and i certainly don't want gary payton to win a championship this way, like he tried to do with the lakers...

never thought id say this but... GO MAVS!

you couldn't pay me to watch this series. i ABSOLUTLY refuse to give the NBA ratings for the finals when mark cuban's team is a part of it.

i flat out can not stand him or his team, so eff em. no way in hell i watch. NO WAY IN HELL.

even though shaq is a blathering fool, he at least can back up his trash talk. marky mark can't ( and hopefully won't)

i hope the heat kick some major *** at home.
