Wow, congrats to Yo!

But, I must say....this is the one year where I thought Lisa clearly deserved to be the starter for the West. Nobody is playing like her. Except maybe Cheryl Ford (also snubbed from the starters list). But the anti-Lisa contingent is strong, it'll just fuel her fire to do it all in the game so she can be MVP from the bench... again.

The bigger surprise might be Staley on the starters list. Ticha came in third in the voting, followed by Augustus. Taurasi 5th!! That is the shocker right there. I figured her as an automatic due to her popularity.

Either the anti-contingent,the Sacramento ballot drive or sentimental voting by fans around the league who believe this is Yo's final season. The retirement factor is the only explanation I have for why Staley is starting for the West. Leslie absolutely should have the start all things being equal.

If I'm Whiz, I'm loading up with Leslie, Thompson, Taurasi, Augustus and Pondexter and telling them to shoot til's they can't shoot no more and the accompanying post players to rebound and let the shooters keep reloading. Hell, he can even legitimately grab Buescher. With the young guards he has at his disposal, they should be able to shoot the East out of the gym.

Congratulations to Yo, altho I, too, am of the opinion that Leslie deserved it this year. I'm still happy for Yo. She deserves to go out in style with due respect as earned over the years.

Yo deserves the swan song. Lisa may be playing better, but she has been a starter when Yo was playing better, so I figure it evens out.

Should be a fun game.

I voted for YO every day...LL will get her minutes & try and try to steal the MVP award once again! I do agree she's having a great year. This is one game where the defending Champion Yolanda Griffith deserves to start & we SacTown fans will be the loudest! Congrats to Yo!

I say let Lisa grab the MVP and the bulk of the minutes....Yo's knees need a break. Yo's already won 3 of them (only one "officially - the others she was screwed out of by shortsighted media folks)
