Why not go all the way?

Okay, let's have a little fun.

Why not assume that Cousins is going to the Lakers, and go even further?

LAL: Cousins
SAC: Pick 2, Clarkson, Randle

While that's probably not enough to get the deal done, let's assume that it is. Now, let's move Rudy and Collison as well.

MIA: Gay
SAC: Pick 10, Luol Deng, Mario Chalmers
DAL: Collison, Josh McRoberts

Gives Dallas at least a serviceable PG once Rondo walks, and McRoberts is a much better bench PF than any of the spuds Dallas currently has.

Miami gets a bonafide star to pair with Dragic, Bosh, Whiteside and (Possibly) Wade. That's a pretty potent starting 5.

We get another lottery pick, and Deng, who is on the decline, but still worthy of a starting spot. Plus, he's a tenacious defender which is what we're looking for. (Note: Deng could go to Dallas and McRoberts here, but I figured we've got enough bench PFs to last us).

We can then draft Okafor at pick 2, Mudiay at pick 6, Best Available at 10 (Dekker, Kaminsky, Mario, Stanley Johnson, even WCS?). Waive Stockton and Moreland, resign Casspi, pick up Aldrich, and go into the season like this:

PG: Mudiay/Clarkson
SG: McLemore/Stauskas
SF: Deng/Casspi/(Dekker/Johnson?)
PF: Randle/Thompson/Landry
C: Okafor/Aldrich/(WCS/Kaminsky/Turner?)

Won't happen, but it's a fun little project to think about!

Shot crap with a Wolves fan, came up with the 3 way of

Kings: #1 and #3 in 2015 + Noel and Pekovic
Wolves: Boogie
Philly: Sauce, #6 2015, Wolves unprotected 2016, KMart and Landry.

If the Kings are going to definitely trade Cousins that's the kind of deal you'd have to make. Of course, I'm not sure that Philly goes for that. Seems like they are giving up too much.

And of course, the biggest reason to go after Nerlens Noel is that he's an ideal fit next to Boogie.

But Towns, Noel, Gay, McLemore, Collison and Russell (or Mudiay or Porzingis or Winslow) off the bench isn't a bad setup. I think you'd have to trade Gay too though and just blow things up completely. No reason to keep him around, especially when his efficiency plummets when he's the first option on offense.

I doubt Minny is on Fegan's list of trade destinations. He wants lucrative endorsements for Cousins and you get those in the big markets.

At this point the only way I'm happy with any Boogie trade is if Minnesota trades Wiggins and the #1 (which they won't). There's nearly no other situations where we benefit.

And then...
In 2-4 years, after continued losing, we trade those that we acquired for more picks and younger young guys, more drama and circus shows, Karl having a last hurrah in trading for quasi-veterans, and we are back and square one.

You never go full rebuild.

I actually like it, with one addition (as long as we're dreaming). From here on out, we blacklist Fegan. No one represented by him will be involved in trades, negotiations, or contracts with the Sacramento Kings! Yeah, I know the business world doesn't work that way, but it's a fun thought.
