So, that got me wondering. With all the attention and press about Dawn Staley retiring after this season, why hasn't there been any mention (other than the Sacramento Bee) about this being Yo's farewell season?
Is it because of some possible theories...?
(1.) Yo has a WNBA Championship Ring, and Dawn hasn't. And people/media might be rooting for Dawn to get one before she retires?
(2.) Yo said in interviews that she would retire, but has yet to make an "official" announcement, though a press conference.
(3.) Yo might change her mind, depending how her knee feels by the end of the season.
(4.) Yo prefers not to make any attention about retiring distract from focusing on the team.
(5.) Yo just simply isn't into that "farewell tour" business. (Not like some show-biz performers such as Cher or KISS, who go on "farewell tours" every 3-4 years!)
Any possible answers, anyone?
And on another note from that ESPN message thread: What's this I hear about Yo's daughter Candace not liking basketball? Didn't she play b-ball on the McClatchy High School team? Maybe she didn't want to hear about the comparison between herself and her mom?

I hear lots about it being Dawn [Staley]'s last season (unless we can talk her into one more), but I haven't heard it is Yo Griffith's last season. Monarchs fans?
