Why is Sampson inactive??

Jamal is the 13th guy on the roster so why is he inactive? He may be a diamond in the rough (it's christmas, I can dream can't I) or at least someone who can help. He can't be much worse than the bench, so why is he not on the bench?

Is he injured? what?

i think u can only have 12 active players and everyone after that up to the 15th has to be inactive

I've seen him at all the games this season, just that he's in a suit on the end of the bench (except for vs. Denver where he played 2 minutes in garbage time at the end). I'd like to see him get some PT, he's not just a tall guy. ;)

so is Schensher still one of our 15 guys??

No, he was waived, near the deadline, before the season began.

While we can have up to 15 guys, with 12 being on the active roster, the Kings have the minimum 13. At this point, Sampson is the 13th so he may stay inactive unless someone needs to be inactivated due to injury.

Still no answer to why Sampson is "inactive". He is a "big" body, supposedly defender and rebounder. Price hardly gets off the bench and Kevin has slipped out of the rotation. Surely, he deserves a shot at the bench. As I said above, he can't be any worse than the bench being played now, KT notwithstanding.

How could we possibly know, CD? It's a decision made by the coaching staff.

I personally would like to see Price get some more minutes to see what he's capable of.

The point is that we aren't seeing Corliss or Skinner come in. I have a lot of doubts if Sampson would see PT either at this point...

well why are Skinner and Corliss both 'inactive'?? Answer: Adelman has his agenda and ideals of the tightness of his rotation, therefor leaving out guys that SHOULD be playing and helping. This team would have probably won 3 or 4 more games had he had both those guys in there. Our bench should be KT, Skinner, and Corliss, primarily, with Garcia coming off as a back up to Bibby.(Hart is garbage)

Hart makes most of his jumpers, but misses some too, and yeah he plays pretty good d most of the time from what I've seen. Just would like to see him get 2-4 assists off the bench (got 4 sometime ago), and 5-8 points. I think now he's slowly starting to fit into this offense.

Garcia's point-abilities and quickness to the basket and scrappy d keep him playing, aside from his jumper.

Skinner's been playing more lately, but it needs to be every game. Corliss maybe a bit less, but he should still play. I'd also like to see Price play, as well as Sampson.

I've watched Sampson play before and he really isn't that good so that's why he isn't playing.

I wouldn't mind seeing Price get some time instead of Hart though.

Well VF, guess you hit the point. Adelman is upset with his bench and is playing only those who are producing not allowing the luxury of looking at the end of the bench, where sits Kevin and Price as well. OK, enough of the mystery of Sampson from my end, I'm satisfied.

On another note, I thought Kevin was a good defender and can score but apparently not enough to satisfy Coach.

That alone get's you relegated to the bench. Anyone who can defend won't fit into the Kings "system" so they don't play :D

Not any more. But we saw everyone but him vs. Mavs. Price suprised everyone. Maybe more Skinner and some Sampson can suprise us, get rebounds and provide bench help.

In an LA media article Kobe is quoted as commenting in a conversation 2 years ago he was going to opt out so that Jamal Sampson would not get picked up in the expansion draft. What did he see that others, so far, have not see? Don't hang on the opt out part rather on why was he so in favor of Jamal?

Not that Kobe really cares about the rest of his teammates, since he's a one man army, and thats the way he always likes it. Kobe is an ***...I dont ever listen, or have ever listened, to anything that 'man' has ever said.

What does Kobe see that others, so far, have not seen? You're kidding, right? You don't see that as a rather snide little jab at Jamal?

Reaching two years back to "an LA media article" where you say Kobe Bryant made reference to Jamal Sampson is about as relevant as comparing Ronnie Price this year to Gerald Wallace in 2003.
