Maybe Pop didn't want him with high usage. What Pop wants, he gets. It's hard for me to believe that Popovich of all coaches would not increase a players possessions if there was some untapped potential there. We would have to make the assumption that Pop did not see something in this player's game that we think we see. If I'm going to make any assumption it's that Pop sees more than any fan about Anderson and kept his usage low for a reason, that reason being that he believed more possessions would mean more inefficiency. We should be very cautious on thinking that a player from SA is going to do as well or better in Sacramento. We've been to that rodeo before.
Good points.

Pop makes average players look real good.

Anderson's offense is a concern, but defense usually translates, wherever a player goes.

Anderson could be a densive specialist, like a Bruce Bowen type, but we would need him to at least become a 3 point threat (I.e. 35% shooter on 3-4 attempts per game) if we were to sign him. If he could do that, he could be the missing piece to this young core.

I don't like playing players out of position, but I can see a lineup of Giles, Bagley, and Skal/WCS working as a starting front court .
Teams usually start big, and while there is no true 3, they're all switchable defenders. This can work for 5 minutes at the start of every half, and gets your young talent on the floor.

If they can all become passable 3 pt shooters, and WCS adds some range, it would be no worse than starting JJ who shot pretty poorly last year.

Heck, Koufos had some 3 pt range in college, and if you look at Baynes you start to thinking maybe it's not too late for him too...

I'd start Jackson at the three and let him learn through trial and error full time. Even if he has miserable shooting nights, he needs to grow confidence and that starts with the coach giving him the freedom to make mistakes without taking him out too quickly.

Given it looks like we are going hard at LaVine (if you believe the reports) id say our FO is looking at potentially moving Bog to the 3 and having VaLine and Fox being our backcourt of the future with Hield coming off the bench.

I dont necessarily agree with this approach or the addition of LaVine but i think it adds to the notion that we may already have our SF rotation in Bog/Shump and Jackson

San Antonio gets Saric (and prob more young talent). They also get cap space to retain such as Bertans and Forbes because they lost parker and anderson yesterday (due to cap space).

I have a feeling San Antonio likes Skal based on what Sean Elliott said during a game.

So Saric, Furkmanz, Bertans, Forbes, Skal

I read it but what goes to San Antonio? If we get Covington and a pick. What do we send and what does philly send to San Antonio?
Yeah I had the same question. Saric + picks is not enough for SA to deal him, we’d have to throw in an asset. If we could get rid of WCS I’d add him to satisfy the Spurs but if they ask for Bogie or Buddy I laugh them off the phone. We don’t need additional picks and Covington (who I like, but is no star) bad enough to give up anybody from our core.

Chris sheridn thinks we can help facilitate kawhi to 76ers and get covington and pick for our cap space.

I think he might be on to something.
There is absolutely no way any team gets Covington as a salary dump. He is on a value contract and is one of the best 3d wings on the whole league. To me it would be beyond ridiculous if anything like that happens. If Covington gets moved, its either a straight up part of Kawhi trade or part of a 3team trade where Sixers/spurs gets pick(s)/player(s) for him. Apart from Fox and Bagley (because he was just picked at #2) there isnt any player I wouldnt trade straight up for Covington.

Furkan Korkmaz' 40 point SL performance shows that he is the next Michael Jordan, so we should get him away from the 76ers, whatever it takes. I propose trading away some first round picks.

I'm kidding of course, I like Bogdanovich in that position. The temptation to poke fun at SL madness was just too strong.

It will come down to preseason competition between Shump and JJ.

Shump May end up winning that since he isn’t as feast or famine as JJ. You can usually count on the 7 or 8 points and some defense from Shump. Sometimes he’ll do better but usually never worse than a few baskets and some defense. He’ll be playing for his next contract as well at still a young age so we might get an exceptional year from him. JJ has the donut lines when it’s not his night to drop 15

Temple will likely be the default choice should they both stink up preseason. Probably the most reliable

I'd still rather play JJ the majority of minutes to see if he develops. Putting Shump on the court doesn't do much for the Kings future.

I’d rather see JJ out there too, but Joerger still has a vet preference and if Shump plays better I think he’ll get the job.

I would say that Justin Jackson is showing you the answer to that question.
I love what I'm seeing from Jackson, but my question is how much of a contributor is he if his shot isn't falling? I'd love to see some growth from him defensively this year as well since he looked below average on that end as well.

I think a lot of you are going to be surprised.
I think we’ll be surprised to an extent.

I think Z-Bo, for example, will be used sparingly next season.

I’m not saying Joerger will play vets just for the sake of playing vets. I just think he’ll play his best contributors. Unless Shumpert and his expiring are dealt before the season, there is a good chance he may outplay JJ and Joerger isn’t going to dog a good vet. The lineup will be atleast 60 percent prospect at all times. Kings have no draft pick to look forward to. Joergers gonna try to get some wins together.
