I think Porzingis bumped Winslow for me.

I'm fine with either WCS or Porzingis right now.
I am in the same boat. Porzingis really impressed me, even if it was a solo workout. The thing is, with Porzingis, he has the potential to be "the" guy, and I just can't say the same about WCS. You can feel and see it with Porzingis, he just has the aura that many good/great players have. Granted, he has a ton of work ahead of him to just even scratch the surface of his potential, but it's significant. If we draft him, Vlade must think he is really either 1) NBA ready now or 2) willing to risk the potential future of Cuz in a King's uni for this guy.

My talent evaluation sucks, but I'm starting to like Mudiay less and less. I'm really starting to settle for Collison as our starting PG. If Mudiay falls to 6, and WCS is off the board, I'd probably go Porzingis or shop the pick hard.

It just hit me why Carmichael Dave is so sure the Kings won't draft Mudiay!

He probably knows that Karl and Vlade will make a strong play to trade for PG Ty Lawson.

They may have a framework for a trade with Denver for Lawson in place already.

Therefore, the Kings won't need to draft a point guard!

Just my best guess. ;)

Could be but with Pete over there I just wouldn't trust that trade. Give me mudiay

If the Kings don't trade down or trade the pick altogether my draft board looks like this:

1. Towns
2. Russell
3. Cauley-Stein
4. Okafor
5. Porzingis
6. Mudiay

While I think Towns is pretty much a lock for #2 (and absolutely a lock to go top 2) I can envision a scenario where any of the others drop. But at the end of the day one of those players will be available at #6.

Most likely it will be one of Porzingis, Cauley-Stein or Mudiay and I'm okay with that.

Hopefully, they don't trade the pick for Lawson

Even report about Embiid might be a part of the process:
Russell recently cancelled a workout with Sixers. Some say, it must be an injury, others suggest, that Lakers asked him to. Then we see reports about Porzingis being very much in play at 3, now with this report Okafor is starting to make some sense as well. Maybe the report about slow healing is real, maybe it's just Sixers sending a message, that they won't be extorted for Russell. Who knows in this sea of BS.

Likely some BS involved as well, but assuming Towns, Okafor, Russell are top-3:
Knicks apparently set to draft one of Porzingis, Winslow, WCS and Mudiay (no one is ahead right now),
Magic narrowed it down to Porzingis(clear favorite), WCS and Winslow with potential trade down for Turner.

Is there a chance that 76ers could give up on Embiid and draft another center. If that is a possibility, a possible trade to grab Embiid via trade?

Embiid so far had back problems and navicular stress fracture. First is a known killer of big men, and second one is relatively rare, since tibia or fibula give out first. Still navicular stress fracture was what ultimately ended careers of Walton and Yao.

I'd be very worried if I were the Sixers. Stress fractures are a huge red flag and this is like the third setback now on the same injury. Not good.

Anyway, about Mudiay I don't understand why there's so much concern over the level of competition in the CBA. This isn't an international prospect who's never played against American prospects. He was a highly rated high schooler who looked elite playing against all of the top players in his class at the All Star games. The jumper is a work in progress but he's going to be elite at getting to the basket. He's got instinctual court vision that you just can't teach players and he's a freight train on the fastbreak. His size and quickness should help him become a standout defender. There's more than enough potential there to take him in the top 5.

If I'm the Knicks with their rebuild, I'd take Porzingas who seems to have the highest ceiling of those remaining at 4. You go for the HR. assuming WCS goes to Orlando, Sac has to take Mudiay....unless they have a trade in place for Lawson which doesn't include the pick or Collison.

I'm going to think that Porzingas doesn't get past 4.

Our name has been in the mix for Lawson for several months. But now that PDA has joined Denver, THAT'S the thing that makes you leery of the trade? That doesn't even make any sense.

You take Mudiya if you're the knicks they have 0 guards and there's talk of Monroe is a done deal to sign. Of course Phil thinks the gimmick triangle will work without 2 hall of famers running it and might pass on Mudiya.

Porzingis looks great in that workout video. I wouldn't be surprised if he turns out to be the best player out of this draft. Agile athletic 7 footers who can shoot don't come very often. I think he goes top 3 for sure now.

I think we will end up with either Willie Caulie Stein or Mudiaye, both of which fills a need for us at PF and PG.

I think it's less likely WCS will be there and it'll be between Porzingis and Mudiay. With a new rumor today of Karl going after Lawson, not sure how that will play into it. I have zero support for moving this pick for Lawson.

I'm quite tired of this organization going with what they're comfortable with. We've been going after hand-me-downs from GS and Den ever since Vivek arrived. Enough is enough. Lawson on his salary makes no sense, he's not enough of an upgrade over DC and I generally don't think he meshes well with Cuz/Rudy. His assist numbers are inflated due to time on the ball and Denver's system. With less of the ball here I fail to see the upgrade in contribution he'll have here. His assisted vs non-assisted numbers are pretty extreme.

8-16ft: 89.7% of his FGM were unassisted
16-24ft: 88.5% of his FGM were unassisted
Mid-Range: 89.8% are unassisted
While 61.4% of his 3's were assisted, he's also been a 34-36.5% 3pt shooter over the last 4 years

So put me in the boat that's more than a little concerned Lawson's production and fit would take quite a hit playing next to Rudy and Cuz.

You know, that Denver just added biggest spreader of BS about Kings to their staff, right? Unless Vlade or Karl go on record, it is only slightly more probable, than Kings trading for Kobe or Deron Williams.

Conspiracy theory about Embiid: the Sixers have been massively trying to get Saric to come over recently. Embiid suffering "setbacks" would open an opportunity for Saric to get more PT...

Interesting theory, but I hope that's wrong. That would be pretty disgusting for the 6ers.

That would be a bummer if the draft shakes out that way. Literally every guy I would want is gone

I on the other hand really like Mudiay. He's saying all the right things in his interviews. About making teammates better, and being a floor general and getting everyone involved. Sounds like a Karl PG. If WCS is off the board I would definitely take Mudiay..

If neither are on the board, do you think Phily would trade Noel for the 6th pick?

Not after the Embiid news

Pete knows exactly how much we want Lawson and that is a huge bargaining chip. See it makes sense thanks for playing tho.

Wasn't that impressed by Noel in the two times we played them. Cuz made him look like a small child.

Noel doesn't have to guard Cousins if he's on the same team. ;) Noel has two things the Kings need - lateral movement to defend high PnR action and very good weakside shot blocking. Cousins is a good paint clog and post defender (tough to move the big man) but he is weak at closing out on shooters and PnR defense. JT is a good post defender, but sucks at all the same defensive things Cousins does plus more. Noel fills in some gaps for Cousins. Combined, Noel and Cousins should let the backcourt and wings stay home on their men on the perimeter because the paint is a no-go area for the opposing team.

Meh. Pete knew how much Pete wanted Lawson, or, at worst, how much Karl wanted Lawson. Unless Vlade wants Lawson, I'm not at all worried.

Someobody sell me on Justice Winslow because my gut tells me that's who the Kings will be picking, due to WCS not being there.

I am literally not excited for him in the least.
