i've come to the conclusion that you cant knock on wood hard enough for the kings. **** happens. thats always been the motto for this team, and we've always fought thru it. the kings have always stepped up and stared straight at the face of adversity. the kings have never come out on top, but they've always retained their dignity. thats why i feel so privileged to root for this team. no matter how the face of the team changes, they've always seen injuries and obstacles thru together, and to the bitter end. brad is going to join b-jax on the injured list until the beginning of the playoffs, and the kings are going to be challenged yet again. there's no question that brad miller is a very important piece of this team, and it will be difficult to finish the regular season without him. the question is: will the kings have the stamina to keep up? will they pick each other up? will each individual player step up? will they will they have the heart to push thru? history says "yes they will."
will they throw in the towel? absolutely not. you can bank on it.
for some odd reason, i feel like being positive in this situation. we're on a 3 game winning streak w/o b-52, and the rest of the regular season schedule is more favorable than prior to the all star break. we played pretty damn good last night (despite freak-shooting from the clips), and if guys can continue to step up, the kings will be fine. all they need to do is retain the fifth spot. it'd be nice to catch dallas for the fourth spot, but thats gonna be difficult. i believe mike bibby is going to continue to place this team on his shoulders, and i belive the new guys are gonna continue to excel in the areas in which we are lacking. i even believe peja is gonna snap out of his funk, and thats saying a lot, cuz i am not a fan of peja's at the moment. he has greatly dissapointed thus far this season, and i believe he still has it in him to become our first or second scoring option. the cat will continue to prowl. mo will continue to fly the friendly skies. skinner will continue to make great defensive plays that spark the offense. corliss will continue to be an offensive presence for us in the post. kenny thomas will continue to provide us an athletic boost on both ends of the court. darius will continue to be a solid all-around performer. adelman will continue to amaze us with his rotations, and i mean that in a good way. all season, he's been juggling roster spots, and the kings have adjusted well despite all the changes.
i've noticed a lot of negativity today here in the forums, and most of it deservedly so. but if it seems right to press the panic button, then think twice. this is nothing new for this team.
