Yep JJ. GP works in mysterious ways though.

Will a trade go down ? I hope so but who knows.

Been awhile since we were part of something big

i want i to be JJ, but i dont think he has much value. i feel like if we do make a trade, itll have to be something involving our cap space b/c we dont have anybody available that will garner serious interest.

They can each go. So the answer which I doubt Petrie knows until a day or two before the trade. They should be more interested in who they get than deciding who's to go. So as usual, for us fans, it's a crap shoot.

JJ is the obvious choice, and he probably has more value than you might think. Athletic bigs are hard to come by, especially young one's with potential. There's always someone out there that believes they can develop a player you can't. If you go around the league and read the newspapers, or pay attention to twitter, a lot of NBA people are blaming the Kings more than they are Hickson for his poor performance. We fans tend to see things only within our little bubble, and many times with a very narrow focus.

There's no doubt that our capspace is an asset, but at the same time, we don't want to give it all away before the next freeagent period. Unless its a no brainer.

I think the votes exemplify typical Petrie logic around the trade deadline - nobody knows what's going to happen except for the man himself. A lot of us think it's going to be Hickson, which might be able to net us the most value for our return. I can honestly say I have no clue, except for the fact that I'm 100% it won't be Demarcus, and 99.9% sure it won't be Evans.

I think Charlotte and New Orleans would be great landing spots for JJ. Both are rebuilding, want youth, and are weak up front meaning JJ would get a lot of minutes.

After seeing Whiteside the other day I'd like to see more of him and clear JJ out of the rotation completely. It'll be better for him and us.

It's JJ obv. Donte Greene is not good enough to be wanted and the Kings still don't know what they can get out of Hassan, so it would be dumb to gift him to another team.

JJ of course. And I agree with bajaden, he has more value than people around here think. My hope is for JJ + Garcia for Prince.

I think JJ has a higher value than people think. A lot of people in NBA circles think the Kings organization is FUBAR and doesn't have a clue. They will be looking at his play in Cleveland and think this year is an aberration.

Going by what we have seen so far this season, there is no way we will re-sign JJ Hickson. He is just not a very good fit for this team. Now we have 2 options, either let him walk for nothing in the off-season or try and salvage something and trade him for someone that might work out.

We won't get a proven player for JJ or a very good pick but I am hoping we can get another youngster from some team that has fallen out of favor but can play. Think of Marcus Thornton trade last year. He was glued to the bench and NO needed another "big" so we were able to get him for Landry. That is the type of trade I am hoping for here that could work out really well for both teams.

Of those players that we would like to see moved (and NO I am NOT talking about Tyreke), JJ probably has the most value. If we manage to shed Salmons' contract it would be insane and one of the biggest moves of Geoff's career.

I think JT is just as likely as Hickson. Kings has been trying to replace him in the starting lineup for a couple years now, and he can get more in return than Hickson.

Also think they are beginning to entertain a Tyreke trade. Not going to give him away of course and the chance of trading him is slim, but I wouldn't be surprised now if it happens.

im gonna have to disagree on the JT part. He has definitely shown the necessary improvements this season. Hes not a perfect player or a stud by any means, but unless we get a better PF for him, i dont think hes bad to keep around at all. I dont see him as a starter for us next to cuz on a contending team, but he would make a great back up and for now i think we need to fill in our gaps, not create new ones

I have to agree. God forbid that we trade JT and then be stuck with JJ starting next to Cousins. The idea is keep the pieces that fit, and move the pieces that don't. I've never thought it was progress to weaken one postion in order to strengthen another. Now if we can aquire someone thats good enough to move JT to the bench, thats a good thing and you just got stronger.

Obviously, if GP trades JT another big is coming in. It'd be atypical of him to just trade away someone without someone adequate to fill that position.

I don't think Hickson has much trade value, I don't doubt that armchair fans blame the Kings for Hickson's struggle. But I don't believe GMs are as clueless. If there is a trade and if it doesn't involve the big three or Jimmer, then the most likely suspect has to be JT. The only remaining guy with any value.

It's tough to pull off a trade with only crap (besides our cap space) to offer. Maybe it'll be cap space + filler for someone. Guess we'll see.

I think Toronto would be a good trade partner for a possible Hickson trade.

They could really use JJ next to Bargs.
Calderon+draft pick for Hickson+Salmons.

I am afraid Petrie will go again trading for players the Kings don't really need. Worse, he might trade performing players for non-performing players just for the sake of moving pieces. I would rather have Petrie not trade anyone at this point, lest he might make the roster worse. Let's just wait for whatever player we could get from the draft and hope for the best.

In one mock draft there are 5 power forwards in the top 10. Does that factor in?

I think what factors in besides who will be available when we pick (I think Barnes and Gilchrist will be gone when we pick) is whether or not we have AK47 wrapped up. The fact that there are so many NBA ready big guys available makes the signing and proper use of AK47 a necessity. Just my opinion.

As an addition, I think Drummond has a liklihood of being a big dud in the NBA and if he is picked before our pick, it only makes our choice easier.

Mr. Blunts don't forget you gotta give up some talent in order to recieve something back. JT has played nice this year nobody is saying otherwise but you gotta keep your options open there could be teams out there ready to make some price cuts to their roster.
