oh...oh...oh.........sincerest apology offered.......:p

Is that a welcome home present? I'll be there in about 2 1/2 weeks. :D

are you just visiting, or are you moving back for good?? :D

I am a Sonics fan as well... and congratulations for your win.

I have my opinions about the game, but I am not sure if they would be welcome, but here they are:

I think, you won because you shot well. It was not like you were dominating the game (except for some part of the 1st quarter). We still out-rebounded you and put a lot of hustle. Including the turnovers and everything, we still had 81 shots while you had 79. Pretty close... but still it comes to my point, which says you shot better.

I won't comment on officiating because at the end of the series I think everything will even out. In game 2, you had bad calls/no calls and in this one we had. The technical on AD after Bibby fouled him, but got no call was horrible, but as I said it evened the call that Jerome got on Miller and then Miller got the technical.

That's basically it about the game. Below, you'll find my opinions about posting here during this time of the year:

I, for one, wouldn't post anything about the game during or immediately after the game. I'd wait at least a day or two. After all, there are emotions flying at that time. As far as I understand, Ray does the same thing. He even sent a post before the series began telling that he wouldn't hi-jack your game thread. We are not here to irk you, or trash talk about your team. Moan, enjoy... I shouldn't be interrupting you. It is like, you are a family (for your team) and we are another family. When one family member does something wrong, you can do all the talk, but nobody will be offended. But if somebody outside of your family comes and tells exactly the same thing that you say about that family member, people will be offended no matter what. I wouldn't want to do that.

We posted our opinions after game 1 and 2, but in the first one, the topic was "What do Sonics fans think?", and the other one was "Congratulations to Sonics". It would be rude not to answer both topics, and we haven't even trash talked about the wins.

This one is more like trying to degrade us: "we are here when we win, not here when we lose", pfft... Luckily, not many of the posters think like that. But still, for the sake of not losing our respect to each other, win or lose, I won't be posting here till the series is over. Afterwards I can come here to give you the props or tell my condolences.

Good luck for the rest of the series.

Very nice post, gocmen. I think you are right about the officiating (in general) and it does seem to be evening out though.

There is no doubt that the Kings only "dominated" in the 1st qtr (and maybe for just a few minutes in the 4th, but that wasn't for long). Just because a team is hitting almost 50% of their shots, you cannot call it dominating.......at least not when they are not controlling the boards. Fortunately for us, hitting the shots was all that counted.

I remember that Ray said he would never be here during games. I respect his (and your) reasoning. It is the classy thing to do. I also don't believe in "butting in" on a family get together. Discussion afterward, however, is not only okay, but is welcome.

I am glad you noticed that the majority of us just enjoy hoops and discussing (rationally) the pros and cons of the game from our own perspective. There is no way that I thought that you, Ray, Green N Gold, or any other Sonics fan was hiding out from us. Just like you kept a respectable distance after games 1 and 2, taking the same time for yourself after game 3 makes a lot of sense.

Personally, I hope you change your mind about waiting to visit after the series. If I have any say (and I do have a little...a very little ;) ) we can continue these discussions at any time.

Let me echo 6th's comments and add to them...

It is fans of other teams like you, gocmen, that make this board such a great place to come and talk hoops. You are entirely right that feelings are running pretty high around here right now and I, for one, am extremely grateful that you clearly understand how we feel.

You are, sir, a class act and I thank you.

gocman I remember you from the ESPN Seattle board. That used to be a cool room to go into and read a few years ago.

I'm sorry I wasn't here to give you guys congrats on your game 3 win. I had alot of problems on the day and because of that I didn't even manage to see the game. My mother was having tests which showed she has cancer so I have been by her side most of the weekend. I somehow managed to catch game 4 as I had work today so I had to leave her at that time.

I'm sorry If some here think I'm only here because my team won but thats your choice. At the end of the day I can't control the unexpected things that happen in my life.

As I said I didn't catch game 3 and It looked like Bibby had a great game and I knew the Kings wouldn't lay down and die. They are too tough of a team. I can't really say much more than game 3 as I didn't manage to catch It.

Most of us don't really jump to conclusions like that, and we know you don't have any obligation to come here after losses (or wins) for that matter. You obviously have things that are a lot more important going on in your life right now, and you obviously have your priorities straight. You always have good opinions and insight, and we welcome you whenever you have time to post.

Best of luck to your mom. I will pray for her.

Ray, thanks for stopping by. I am sure things are pretty difficult for you right now. You also have my prayers for your mom and all of your family. I hope all goes well. Stop and see us when you can.

Got your wristband, 6th. :) Now hurry up and come home so you can get your welcome home gifts!

As soon as I can. :D Hmmm! Maybe I should do a countdown to expected arrival date.

Ray....I hope you'll stop back by, because I want you to know how very sad I was to hear about your mother. Your mother, you and all of her loved ones will be in my thoughts and prayers.

First off I hope everying works out Ray and give my best wishes to you and your family I have been in that situation before and prayers and love got us through it.

To both Ray and Gocmen I love hearing from other fans. You guys are not the typical opposing flame fans. You know the ones that come to a board to rub things in. There are some Laker (hoops) and Dallas fans that I put in the same catagory. Just class act fans that I enjoy hearing opinions from.

I, too, want to add my prayers for the best for you and your family, Ray.

Kingsfans.com is a special community. We welcome people and, in some cases, we feel a close affinity for someone almost immediately. You're a part of our little family now - we'll let you know about the family secrets later.

Take care...

My sympathies Ray. I have been under similer stress myself. My father has been batteling cancer for the past three months... it is quite a drain.

My thoughts and prayers for your mom and your family, Ray. My mom just went through radiation treatment for cancer..I know where you're coming from. A positive attitude does wonders.
Kingsfans is a great place for support...nice people here.

Ray, Celt, and hoops, to you my empathies go. Also experienced a family member battle cancer and radiation treatment. Hope your fams get well.

My sympathies to everyone. I've been through this a few years ago with my uncle's battle against colon cancer. To be honest, I'm kinda shock. I always though of cancer as this rare occasion. Yet, in our small online community here, already 4 or 5 members who have family that battle cancer.

If only it were rare Pacboy. We can all pray for that day. My Grandmother, 2 aunts, my mom and best friend.....all lucky enough to be cancer survivors. Hope that gives you some hope Ray. :)

Thank you! Thank you!

I'll be here all week. Tell your friends!

Cancer is far from rare. I lost both my parents to that horrible disease. My thoughts and prayers go out to all who have loved ones suffering from it. It makes your life take on a whole new perspective. Things like winning a playoff game just don't seem as important anymore.
