What would Utah give for Jimmer? (split)

Andris Biedrins is probably the easiest piece to get from them. We would have to package someone else to make the contracts match.

As an alternative, Burke was looking very much not ready for prime time, a la Quincy Douby. IT might sweeten the pot to maybe get one of the better players on the team. If you could dump Salmons/IT to get Gobert/Rush, would you do that?

Jefferson and Biedrins are expiring and mean just about nothing to Utah so Salmons/Jimmer should be able to bring back one or the other. Not sure how they value Gobert (pick 27) but he's hardly playing in preseason and has been a foul machine when he has. Getting him included with a near worthless vet would probably be the best we could do.

I fink Jimmer might be used in a grate with the cavs. During the draft it was reported when we were allegedly talking trade with them for IT that we wanted them to take off the restrictions on the draft pick we sent them for hickson so we could make a blockbuster trade with the pick and they could you a bench shooter.
In a recent Grantland article it says Denver has been putting feelers on Faried in trades hopefully we could get that pick and offer it to Denver (unprotected )

Ugh. I really don't want Faried. He is a plus rebounder but a minus defender. If we're going to add another undersized 4, could we at least target Josh Smith when Detroit's horrible lineup mistake becomes apparent 20 games into the season?

Lets not go overboard. Jimmer is having himself a good preseason and has improved some aspects of his game but up until now he hasn't been a solid rotational player. I don't think the rebuilding Jazz would give much

Check the news feed thread. ;) There's an article from a Utah fan who thinks they could really benefit from getting Jimmer.

The problem I have, is that most of the players they might be willing to trade, I don't want. The only deal I would be interested in would be a straight up trade of Jimmer for Gobert. It work on ESPN Trade Checker, and along with getting a possible shotblocker, we'd save about a mil in capspace. If, for some reason we were able to free up our future 1st round pick that The Cav's have a lien on, I certainly wouldn't trade it away with the best draft in 15 years coming up. Not unless it nets me a big time player.

However, by freeing up that pick, we're then able to trade future 1st round picks, that were also in limbo until the Cleveland thing is resolved.

Why do Denver want Jimmer? Lawson/Robinson/Miller/Fournier/Foye would all be ahead of him in the rotation plus when Gallo comes back the likes of Quincy Miller/Jordan Hamilton can slide to the 2 as well. Even if they trade Miller he's even further back in the Denver rotation than he is here.

Smith interests me as well, but I really don't think we have anything to give them of value they need, Thornton is no better than Stuckey, Patterson they might want but yeah unless they want straight up cap space for Salmons and other things.

Please, Utah. Offer us a future second round pick and some nachos. At this point, I'd lobby for the front office to accept it just to get rid of some of the fanboy drama.

Jimmer for Gordan Hayward. That's fair, right? I mean if they throw Kanter in there too then that would definitely make the trade fair.

Or we could ignore the fanboys for one more season and hope that coach Malone turns things around for Jimmer and the whole team :)

I'm still hoping the Kings brass hang onto Jimmer until at least his rookie contract is up. There is a chance he continues to improve to the point where the rest of his game is good enough to allow his shooting to really do the team some good. Not many guys have his range.

After watching the Jazz/Lakers preseason game last night, I think that Jimmer might be a pretty decent fit for the Jazz. Put him out there with Alec Burks, Gordon Hayward, Favors and Kanter. All four of those guys are athletic and plus defenders to cover up for Jimmer's defensive problems. Burks and Hayward are also good ball-handlers and have good court vision for the position, so Jimmer doesn't have to be the primary ball-handler on offense. Utah desperately needs floor spacing with that lineup, though. Hayward is currently the only guy on the roster who can hit threes. With the development of Kanter and Favors down low, they need some space to do their thing.

Preseason Jimmer is worth more than a second rounder, though.

As much as I understand your frustration with this issue, I'm not about to give up Jimmer for just a second round pick. A first round pick, maybe, depending on what year and how high. Jimmer has some value, and I'm not about to let him go just to let him go. However, I do find the Nachos enticing. Now if you could throw in a little salsa, then maybe....:p

If Utah really knows how good Jimmer is, and they should because it's blatant to everyone outside of Sacramento, then they will easily trade us their franchise for him. Personally I'm not sure if I'd give him up for that, but it's a solid starting point.

getting Favors will give the Kings a defensive big that could compliment Cousins and giving Fredette to the Jazz will certainly give Utah a fan favorite and jimmer could benefit from it because he will be given playing time.

And why would the Jazz do this? If rumors are to be believed, they haven't expressed any interest in obtaining Fredette.

i would trade jimmer and ppat to the bobcats for bismack biyombo and jeffery taylor.....after they signed al jefferson and drafted cody zeller, bismack may be expendable...he would be the shot blocker we need next to cousins!!! make it happen pete.

Minnesota is already loaded with guards, Barea, Rubio, Shved, Martin, Muhammad, Price.

Would be nice to have Kevin Martin right now. Watched him play tonight and he's just as consistent of a shooter and scorer as ever. No, I'm not suggesting that they would trade him for Jimmer (LOL)

well it'll depend on the management, some franchise players are also traded.

...lol...

I hope Jimmer does find a niche somewhere, not only for himself but for all the Jimmer fans who cannot accept that right now he's a really nice guy and former college star who just might not ever successfully transition into a tenured NBA career.
