Anyone have a clue as to what they will look like?
Can they be worse than the awful gold ones?
When does the new video game come out with a preview?

The word last year was that the gold jerseys would, in fact, be used for three years. There are rumors about a reappearance of the checkboard jerseys.

<secretly praying the kings store has a freak fire and all the gold jerseys are destroyed>

ive heard the checkered rumor from many people. if so that would be fantastic. imagine those jerseys with the adidas logo. my money would go straight to an artest one

bring back the all black

I was wondering how long it would take for someone to bring up this - the most frequently made comment about jerseys in all Kings history...

There are a myriad of threads in the past about why the black jerseys are not going to be brought back, but I suppose the debate will have to run its course again. And the black jerseys will still remain only in some people's closets and in our memories.

;)

Are the checkered board ones the ones where they were like half black and half purple? If so I hated those ones those were ugly, although not as ugly as this years gold jerseys.

I asked Joe and Gavin Maloof, separately, earlier this summer about bringing back the all black jerseys the Kings wore from the 1994-95 to 2001-2002 seasons. They both told me they would love to bring them back but the NBA will not allow them to do so.

So much for my advertising campaign of "Back in Black" complete with the AC/DC song.

I was just thinking that even if they did bring back the above jerseys, it wouldn't be the same without the same font. I am not too crazy about the new font on the current jerseys. Maybe it's just me.

Mike0476 did they say why they can't bring back the old black jerseys or why they wouldn't bring them back? And did u ask them why in the heck did they get rid of them in the first place?

It's a league decision, not an individual team decision.

anything is an up grade over the gold jerseys... those are like the same look as those dallas garbage bag jerseys... and dallas got ride of those quick... they were the laughing stock of the league and then someone had a great idea... maybe if they were gold ! ! ! i would rather see a pink jersey over the gold... straight up

So the league can decided whenever they want to take a certain jersey off a team and create a new one? U find that hard to believe. I would think it would be an organization decision not an NBA decision.

I guess not eh. What I wonder is if the Kings had the black and the NBA said "No, gotta get rid of them." or if the Maloofs changed from the black to sell some new style and then they decided to change back and then the NBA said "No, quit screwing around.".

So then they made Gold alternates.

remember, NBA teams are called "franchises" for a reason. They are not truly independent entities. I'm sure the NBA just tries to make sure it has a variety of jerseys to sell rather than every team having black because its cool. Wish we would have stuck with black rather than making a money grab with multiple changes (thus necessitating more buying amongst jersey collectors), but now that we gave it up, it would be hard to reclaim the color.

i realy want the alternate jerseys to come back... the ones from like the 1999-2000 season... you know the dark blue-ish ones... really loved those ones... can't seem to find them though...

So exactly how much control is there? If we come up with a color scheme that is not popular with other teams, can we then change? Or is there contractual stuff that involves compliance with whatever the NBA decides? Interesting point about changing colors to make more $$, - Gold??? what were they thinking???
