I honestly think we will sign Darnell Jackson for the veteran minimum and call it an off-season!

Petrie is a notorious slow mover that always has an attitude of getting players and needing at least half a season to see how it all goes! For years he has lacked the ability to build a team with a vision and concentrated effort of getting players that fit that vision. Instead he has taken an approach of getting the best player he ca given the circumstances and see how they fit!

Carolina, I think you might be right about Jackson and Petrie will be slow to do it, allowing plenty of time for a trade to move one of our surplus.

If you're going to insist on posting these polls, at least make use of the multiple choice option once in a while. You know, change it up a bit. I know it's TDOS, but geez...

Like you told me a few weeks ago on the same subject if you don't like it then don't read it. :p

But like I said before, it seems like these are MSE type polls to gauge the fanbase.

Ah, but I didn't just complain. I actually offered a suggestion to make the polls a tad more interesting. ;)

I hadn't seen your comment about K F Jay being somehow linked to MSE. If you're right, I have even less faith in MSE than I had previously. Face it, most of the polls are pretty lame.

Problem with the poll is the catch all phrase "it all depends" always creeps in to any trade discussion. I seriously doubt Petrie looks at involving a specific player in a trade rather he looks for a player that will help then what will it take to get that player. For any one trade it can be a revolving door of possibilities until something makes sense to both sides or not. I really doubt Thomas, Evans or Thornton are being "shopped" so-to-speak. It all depends on what is offered. And so it goes.

I think Petrie trade efforts are on the back burner until we get into pre-season work in October.

I don't think there will be a trade! Our roster is pretty much set and the only thing we will do is sign a 5th "big" on the cheap and I think that big will be Jackson, during or after the training camp!

I think the lineup is essentially set as you say but I think, too, that Petrie sees the problems Fredette and Thornton are for this teaml. If can solve one or the other or both with a trade getting something useful for the team, he will.

I have feeling you may be right. I hope it would be "The Birdman" instead of Jackson or a Sean May/Mikki Moore type of player.

I think Thornton is traded by the time the regular season starts, with an outside chance Tyreke is traded. Those two guys aren't going to work at the two, and I don't buy that Tyreke is going to get many minutes at the 1 or the 3 this season to give Thornton more minutes at the 2.

I could see IT moved with either Salmons or Cisco before mid season and have a line-up in midseason composed of

Starters:
PG-Reke
SG-MT
SF-JJ
PF-TRob
C-DMC

Bench
C-JT
PF-Hayes
SF-Outlaw/Honeycut
SG-Freddette
PG-Brooks

Then the world will end in December 21, 2012.

More likely is this rotation:

PG - IT then Brooks, Jimmer
SG - TE then MT, Jimmer, Salmons
SF - JJ then TH, Salmons, Outlaw, Cisco
PF - JT then TR, Outlaw
C - DMC then CH, JT, TR or acquired "big"
