What is this??

I know what it is.

Its the street team led by king midas. duh.

It's from the same genius minds who brought us those jerseys. Skeptical is an understatement...

Oh GOD NO, Roop The Hoop!
lmao.gif
How long did he last, about two weeks?

I see a lot of their recent activity as more of a desperate attempt to reconnect with the fanbase they feel slipping away. But its just so damn clumsy, cheesy, and they don't seem to ever ask or listen to why that fanbase actually IS slipping away. Instead they spend their time trying to Vegas their way out of things, throw up a lot of flim flam flack, try to distract with glitz, and then blow a disproportionate amount of smoke up the fans' collective asses -- maybe I just have a more sensitive sphincter than most, but I'm getting really tired of "you're the greatest fans in the world and our superdupervalued 6th man -- pat yourself on the back a little harder!" being piped up my behind as some sort of cheesy substitute for more substantial moves. Its kind of embarrassing, and feels suspiciously like they are trying to play me -- the subtext is "you're the greatest fans in the world, and because you're the greatest fans in the world you'll never abandon us right? Right?" Just feels clumsy and desperate.

I respect that they are trying. But they need some help. Somehow they just aren't getting it. A little less cheese and a little more honesty might be a start. I'm not the only person who feels like he's dealing with a used car salesman half the time with all of the constant transparent PR schemes. I've worked in politics, would rather not have my entertainment adopt the same approach.

A little more honesty. A little less salesmenship. A little more responsiveness to or better understanding of the Sacramento fanbase would be welcome. There is a significant trust issue now, and the Maloofs are kidding themselves if they think they can flim flam their way out of it.

Oh... my... gawd.

I'm sorry but as a charter Kings fan, I find that stuff reprehensible. I'm not interested in some gangbang wannabe's comments about "tagging" the team store, etc.

Is it the hip-hop crowd they most desperately want to impress? I believe more strongly than ever that, good intentions aside, they really, really need some kind of fan advisory council - and one that isn't afraid to point out that the emperor isn't wearing any clothes.

That's one link I'm not going to bother to put into my favorites listing.

...

Instead of stuff like that, why not have a family-friendly series that focuses on the players away from the game? Show that they're family people as well...

Something. Anything...but Midas (who was so consumed with the thought of having gold and nothing but gold that his daughter ended up gold.)
