What is the Ceiling for Greene and Casspi?

My opinion on this changes almost daily (with Thompson, too). It's nearly impossible to get a good read on guys as inconsistent as they are. And their sporadic playing time doesn't help either.

I think the biggest question about both/each of them is whether they will ever be coachable. I guess they can be because they are young and inexperienced. But so far each of them in his own way has resisted learning some basic stuff, real basic.
Casspi plays defense like he either hasn't learned yet or that he doesn't think its important. Hard to understand considering all the minutes he's played. Greene is pretty good at taking advantage of opportunities for spectacular plays, offense or defense, but on offense if he doesn't see such an opportunity he behaves like an observer, just stands around watching play and looking for the chance at a spectacular play. He, too, has been yanked many times for things he continues to do. Makes you wonder.
I wish the best in the future for each of them. And they have improved but just continue to behave like dunces on the playing floor.

I see Greene's ceiling to be a role player on a championship caliber team. Play defense, occasionally hit the three. Casspi's ceiling is a little higher IMO, he could be a legit 6th or 7th man rotation off the bench to provide three point shooting, hustle & in your face defense.

I have to agree with yiou. Its too early to tell. Thompson has been playing better since starting, and I think it all depends on what we want out of him. His defense has improved, especially on rotations. He still has a propensity to foul too much, and at times play a little out of control, but you can never fault his effort. Personally I think Casspi has a better chance of being a full time starter. He plays with more intensity, and his defense is improving. He's a better overall scorer than Greene. Greene still bothers me with his sudden disappearances during games. Casspi always plays with a purpose. I'm not sure that Greene does.

I would have to say Omri has the higher ceiling based mostly off his mentality. He's a born competitor, and never takes a play off. Very hard worker, and seems to take matchups personally. Always tries to make his presence felt on the floor.
Physically, Donte is more gifted. But his shooting is just as inconsistent as it was his rookie year. His ft shooting has gotten worse, and thats lack of concentration. IMO, his biggest problem is being too relaxed on the court. He doesn't seem to have the natural fire or intensity Omri has. He shows it time to time, but I get the impression Omri is just as intense during offseason workouts in mid August, in a Tel Aviv suburb.
As for where they'll end up down the road in terms of realizing their talent? Who knows. Far too early to tell.

I echo the sentiment that it's too early to tell what will become of these guys. Same goes for JT.
All three have a question-mark in the basketball IQ column.
All three are physically gifted basketball players and good citizens.
All three are improving, although they don't impress me as particularly fast learners.
But, at the moment, the only one that's a sure-bet to be on an NBA roster in 4 years is JT.

I think they will be role players in the NBA. I think for a decent team, they are the 8th or 9th guy in the rotation. I can see Casspi maybe leaving the NBA to go play back home somewhere.

As others said too inconsistent to tell yet, but if I had to guess...
Green looks to be a Francisco Garcia type. Good team/locker guy, but never really set the league on fire... Kind of a hot/cold occasional difference maker. He will show signs of turning the corner now and then to give us hope, but never really settle down. Not always reliable and will prob never shake that reckless thing at the worst times... aka Cisco.
Casspi ceiling is higher. Once he settles down I can see Casspi being a Peja type player with more hustle. He's got some good fight to him and absolutely loves to play. Every time that dude gets in the game he has a huge smile on his face. He appears very coachable and isn't as much a goofball. Once he figures out his role, he will make a bigger impact and be more reliable than Greene.

Casspi plays with something of a chip on his shoulder and has a mean streak that other NBA players have commented about. Donte probably has more natural talent than Omri, but not by that much. Because of Greene's seeming lack of intensity by comparison, jokes about Donte wallflower, not being focused on the court, etc. have been heard from time-to-time - which you never hear about more mentally tough Casspi.
i rally belive that casspi will be a top 10 SF he have a lot of pasion to the game he will work hard and improove his game all time.
he is search to get the ball all time not run a way from him. he also tougth and his defense improove and will be better.

Casspi's got the passion, and the will to be a better player, not just individually but as a teamplayer as well. Greene may have a higher upside, but with what hes shown us im not sure if he'll get there, or if he even wants to. Hes more of a take whats given to him type of player, a role type player, instead of being an individual force on the court. From what im seeing right now, i think Casspi may become the better player in the future

I was just thinking, what makes Greene, Casspi, and Thompson so frustrating is that they all give you a great game in about 1 out of 5 games. If they would just suck all the time instead of sucking 80% of the time, you could give up on them and move on but they give you just enough flashes of brilliance to keep you hoping. It sure makes it hard to figure out where, if anywhere, their place is in the Kings' future.

Pretty much how I feel. Greene has the size and physical gifts, but mentally....I dont think he has "it". This could be as good as he ever gets.
Omri OTOH, definately has fire. He doesnt seem to be the team player that Greene is unfortunately, but I think he's going to be starter/6th man quality. Greene...Not so much. Its a bummer, Greene really had me going when he came back from his early season benching. Dude seemed to be putting up legit glue guy numbers. Now he isnt really putting up any numbers. Also, I'm in the camp that thinks his D = overrated.

Oh man, you hit it right on the head. His D is most def. overrated. We are such a bad defensive team that the slightest signs of "defense" and they are praised like there is no tomorrow.
