we traded bonzi to denver for nene. it gives k-mart the starting job and it solves a big need for a low-post player. what do u think?
 
It's been talked about a bunch but I would say no given the size of Nene's whopping contract. I don't think Petrie would touch it, unless they would take back KT or something.

Oh, yeah he does..

Big need for a low-post player? We have Artest and SAR, both are good in the post. Nene would definitely add more, which is fine, but I wouldn't say it's a big need.

I'd do Bonzi for Nene, and would be good and intrigued with it.
 
I want absolutly NOTHING to do with Nene...His contract is beyond rediculous.

HE may be young, but he just come off a major injury, and his career averages are 10 points and 6 rebounds...He doesn't even average one block a game (.70)...

I mean, Kenny Thomas puts up similar numbers at a cheaper price (10/7/.4blks)...When you can say Kenny Thomas is cheaper, you know you have a bad contract.

Nene wasn't getting the minutes or consistent oppurtunities though. He did in his sophmore year with 33 MPG in 03-04. But then Kenyon Martin came in the next season. W

as/has also on a Denver team with Doleac/Elson/Camby/K-Mart already there, and was not getting starter minutes, but young player/back-up/oppurtunities.

There's another reason I dont want him.

An unestablished player is NOT worth 60 million dollars.

I don't want his contract on our books...I mean, what if he makes no significant progress? What if he tops out as a 12/9 type player?? We'd have him against our cap for the entire length of his contract, and it would be Kenny Thomas/Chris Webber/Overpaid PF we want to get rid of all over again.

I'll wait until we can get something better and more established.

Thats just my opinion.
 
Wouldn't be surprised if they didn't. Nene's a big part of their future with Carmelo, they're counting on him.

Bonzi also doesn't fit their needs.
 
what if i were to put my head through the wall at hearing no news whatsoever. Wish some news leaked out, anything.
 
with a 2-3 or Martin and Artest with Garcia as backup and maybe some other vet such as Devean George we would be solid at the 2-3. but with Bonzi, Martin, Artest, Garcia we would be tops in the league. So with that said that should tell you how deep we are there. We got plenty of Ball handlers so back point is not that big of an issue with me. Now say the KT for Magloire trade goes through well that depth at Center. Now all we need is to pick up a decent backup for SAR maybe Ely, Elson, or Evans something like that with Amundson and Williams coming in and i think we got a good deep front court.
 
Add LoWright to that list. He's a good role-player/energy-hustle PF/C who has a decent offensive game at the same time.

I agree with you, btw.

Elson is likely gone to the Spurs, though.
