Pretty sure Philly ****ed themselves by not giving Embiid the damn ball more.
They do that a lot. Especially not giving it to him down low.

I know it will never happen, but I wish the KINGS could somehow put a package together to land Embiid. Especially if Philly continue to underachive.

He's one guy I think can be used to thwart small ball. If used properly, he could destroy teams down low to the point of forcing defensive adjustments by defending him with a larger player. One that wouldn't allow the opponent to be as effective offensively.

For example, the Warriors would not be able to defend him with Draymond Green. And the Rockets could not get away using PJ Tucker at Center.

But when Philly has him outside the paint as often as they do and refuses to keep going to the well to force a defensive change, he's often wasted.

My wife and I refer to the Blazers as "the Damian Lillards"

Dame continues to be one of my very favorite non-KINGS players. Just love watching the dude go into cold-blooded assassin mode.

I remember watching him at Weber State (I follow the Big Sky a lot) and thinking -- how the hell did this dude end up there? Crazy.

Even crazier to think that the Clippers best players are from San Diego State and Fresno State.

How 3 of the very best players in the league ended up at those programs is mind boggling. Just goes to show that players can often get overlooked or just don't develop as quickly as others.

Circling back to this series, I realize that the Blazers are the underdogs in Vegas but I truly felt going into it that they should be the favorite.

Not only has Dame been playing out of this world, but I think the La LeBron's are vastly overrated. They are a paper thin team in terms of depth.

Meanwhile Portland has Jusuf Nurkić, who they didn't have last postseason and Hassan Whiteside playing goalie. And, of course, two players in McCollum and Lillard that can carry the team at any time.

Oddly, I can see Melo being a bit of a wildcard for them. With everyone else getting all the attention, he can be a good clutch spot shooter for them.
