Well..they've got a few formalities left in their game...but it appears just that, a formality.

We're getting Houston and LA gets Seattle.

I'll be flying back from Indianapolis during the entirety of game 1 Thanks league....

This may just be my personal opinion, but I think that Seattle tanked the game today. And I think that it's going to come back to bite them in the *** when they get swept by LA.

Not that I think that they would have beaten the Monarchs, but I've gotten the general sense that Storm fans seem to think that Seattle would matchup better against LA, but I'm not really sure what they base that on; I don't think that the Storm matchup well against the Sparks at all.

I don't mind seeing Houston. I think that their 3-1 record against the Monarchs was a mirage. The Comets are not healthy, and they have lost five games at home this year. The key is Michelle Snow is Yolanda's toughest cover. Will she be able to neutralize Snow and keep her off of the boards and her getting easy baskets. Other than that I like the matchups.

I will give my playoff keys later in the week, when the Comets announce their playoff roster. I want to see whether Tameka Dixon is playing or not.

So, Seattle lost to Houston today? And that means our game against the Mercury is meaningless (as far as playoff ramifications go)? I will bet that Phoenix will be very unhappy and will play us with a real attitude. Stay healthy, Monarchs!!

I am okay with playing Houston in Round 1. It can be a rematch of last year and hopefully will have the same results.

I'm not sure I want to go as far as say they "tanked" the game today, but at the time I tuned into the game, ABC seemed to want to kinda go there. They flashed the graphic re: how well the Comets and Storm had fared against either opponent they could get in the first round based on who won the game today? And coincidentally they had better luck against LA and Hou had better luck against us. I think their fans can have the resolve they do because they know they beat LA in LA w/o Lauren Jackson suiting up.

Snow has been tough cover for Yo, but we also had no answer for Tina either. What I'm hanging my hat on this time around is that Brunson is playing much much better and so is DeMya since our last losses to Hou. I think coach touched on something after the last game - he really is trying to get some of his bench players (and I guess a starter or two) going again. That's I guess what his goal is for the Phx game. I think if the bench shows up against Hou, I feel a lot better about that series because we have the depth to take it to them.

Phx will be playing us on the 2nd night of a back to back, if they have enough in the take an attitude, I'll wonder why they couldn't muster it earlier in the season when they had a chance to control their own destiny. With that said, if Yo wanted to just make a cameo (yeah, right...I mean to say if coach can chain her to a chair after the first quarter...that's cool with me).

Seattle probably wants LA because they beat them in the regular season series, which of course doesn't mean much.

Historically, the Sparks have owned the Storm. And, when the first round of this year's playoffs are over, we shall see that the Sparks will continue to own the Storm, you watch what I tell you.

I don't disagree, the last time the Storm wished for LA in the first round, because they felt like they matched up better they got swept out.

Well first off Congrats to Houston for Hanging in there...Bitten by the injury bug, and Harsh Schedule they still made it happen.

As for Phoenix, This would be the 3rd year in a row that they made it close but came up empty. Although I must say that they made a serious run this year as oppose to last year and the year before, when they tanked the last 4 games.

I still am more impressed with the Development of SASS than Phoenix. I believe they will be the team to watch and Had Chantelle not gotten injured I think they would have held on to #4. JMO. BTW they also gave LA fits too.

So about the Game today.

Yo needs to not even Dress. I know she wants to, but she needs to have a night off. In fact I would activate Brittany to make sure. In fact I would activate Scotty as well. Why Not let them play at this point. It will be a run and gun basketball game. I say we run and gun. Let her Rip.
Perhaps Nicole will remember how to take the first available shot.

Sho-Time needs to have a little fun and Show off some of her open court skills. May be just the thing she needs to get her Mojo Back. **CHEW**
So I think this should be coached like the All-Star game. Lets go have fun and put on a Nice show.

As for Seattle... That sounds like them. Path of least resistance. If they think they match up better against LA, by all means go find out. I have heard their arguement. They liken themselves to the 2004 Monarchs, being the Giant Slayers. The difference was, We had so many post players to throw at Lisa that it was insane. They don't. We also were healthy. They aren't.
I am guessing that they are hoping that we will beat up on one another. Perhaps they hope Houston will beat us. I don't know what they are thinking. The rational is kinda Dumb.

But Hey Play On Seattle.

Hopefully they pull it off. Our Record hasn't been stellar against LA, and if they win, and we Win(Which isn't a given), we get 2 shots at them here. And I like our chances against them here.

So Lets see Yo in a nice suit today. Let's see the Run and Gun team put on a show, and Lets get ready for the Play-offs.
