Welcome Markelle Fultz

i had him on my fantasy squad in 22/23.. so i saw most of that breakout season. he has a nice midrange pullup, attacks the basket prly as good as Monk. Bullies smaller guards on both ends. Absolute thief.. will rack up alot of steals consistantly.. Hes unselfish and prly a top 3 playmaker on this team if not higher. Just an easy guy too cheer for after all the hate he caught early on. Redemption time.

Reeeely hoping with this pickup they run with Monk/Ellis starting and Fultz/Lavine off the bench. That's a crazy 1-2 punch of a lineup:

Monk/Fultz
Ellis/Lavine
DeRozan/LaRavia
Murray/Lyles
Sabonis/Val
I'm sorry Showtime I love and respect you but a 44 million dollar player is not going to come off the bench. I do wish you much lasagna for your whole family now and in the future.

He was really good in 22-23, like on the verge of a breakout good and then got hurt last year? Was really surprised no one picked him up, maybe his health was that bad to start the year. Certainly not someone talent wise who should have been sitting all year
If it truly was an injury that kept him from being signed, this could work out really really well. He had time to recover and rehab at his own pace. Nobody wants to sign a backup point guard who's injured and then have them sit out 3/4 of the season.

Makes sense. The only reason to sign him is so he helps you right now. If he wasn't ready and needed ramp up time, you'd just wait for Carter in the G-League
Still I was thinking we'd see him in first game after the break. Maybe he was in Orlando waiting for his call up.

I have reservations in how all the new pieces fit but that is based on our past experiences.
It usually works that like one in three new players really performs at the level that we hope for.

But I feel that we had been in a position with our bench being lucky to put up more than 15 or so points a game and that was a disaster. Now I see the depth we have with being like 9 players deep in the rotation.

I love and hope to let them get some rest during the break but also having some good practices to get the new players more in sync and should do wonders on both sides of the ball.

Our latest additions choice to come here I believe he sees an opportunity on a rising team to eventually start and hopefully become a long term solution to our PG position.

But we will know over the next month if the hope we have comes to fruition.

Read up on Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, pretty serious stuff.
I really hope Markelle smashes it with the Kings but it will make finding time for all the guards a task.

Didn't he injured his knees and that's why in his last season with the Magic he wasn't able to repeat a solid 22/23 year? If he lost his quickness, I don't think he can help us. Hoping for the best for him.

Why are the not playing the lottery pick as a back up PG instead of signing /hoping Fultz gets it? The Kings need to find out what Carter has he's a older rookie and going into next season we need to know if he's a legit piece or a guy to be traded.

he is not a point guard/ball handler though, that's the main issue, it's only Monk for this job and it didn't used to be his "job" in the past.

He needs reps in the G-League first. He missed a year of basketball and while his defensive activity is great, he needs to work on his ball handling and offense a bit. He also needs more consistent minutes than he will get in Sacramento just to get his conditioning back, if nothing else.

A talented and smooth player with very high bball IQ. He played at DeMatha High School and then UW. I watched him for years. He had some mental challenges breaking into the league, then knee problems. He may be perfect in a back up role. This is one talented player that deserves a chance.

I thought they practice between the games, that would benefit him to fit better with the current squad.

Yeah I have no clue why that happened. Sacramento Kings had a training session in 22nd (that's yesterday for me), perhaps 23rd is a day off so Fultz will work with the Stockton squad and return in 24th again to Sacramento to have a shootaround in the morning and then play in the evening against the Hornets?

I can't seem to find any tweet regarding Carter, that was like a tennis ball lately going to Stockton and then back to Sacramento the whole time.

I wonder, wouldn't be an insult to assign Fultz as a vet to the G league?

Perhaps it is similar to baseball and the "rehab" assignment of major stars to a minor league team for a period.

Fultz hasn't consistently played in a while, is likely not in game shape, and needs to get reintroduced to NBA contact. A bit like Carter, but as a veteran. Based on just his limited minutes in the last game, he appears to be a player that can contribute once he rejoins the major league.

Good points. It occurs to me that Fultz can help Carter at the same time, and both can be coached by someone who knows the Kings' offense inside out.

Part of this certainly feels like he might be there partly to work with Carter but who knows. They are quite similar in many ways.

Frequent social media updates have left fans jumpy like Little Miss Muffet over minor things. The Pavlovian response to phone notifications is amusing and sad at the same time.
