I have never been a fan of the "process", believing that successful organizations establish a winning culture over all else.Oh believe me, I know Maxime won't. But he absolutely should. Trial by fire. You don't draft a 4-5 year college pro and sit them until they are 25 years old.
Look at last year with GS and Post
Memphis and Wells
Jazz and Flip
Phx with Oso
I dont care if they suck. Eubanks is not winning you any games. Might as well play the guy who has upside.
That doesn't mean that one has to suck playing middling vets. One can be bad, by playing the young guys, developing talent and identifying long term pieces. If in the process, you collect Lins and draft one or more high picks, that would be my kind of rebuild.
So, we should either trade away most of our vets for assets (even if we get lesser value in some case), or we pony up, pay the money, and put a winning product on the floor. This concept of letting Val go for cost savings, and then spending on Dennis and Eubanks is something I fail to understand.
The only excuse I'll accept is that not all moves can be or need to be made right away. Scott will deal as opportunities present. That would be a sensible approach rather than a fire sale. These moves are head scratchers though, and don't inspire a lot of confidence.
