We Want Karl chants on Friday?

I would rather use social media, @pdoro, @vivek to get my point across.

Well something needs to be done. Ty Corbin is NOT an NBA Caliber coach. Ask the Utah Jazz fans what they thought of his time there. He is an Epic Failure of a coach. And since they are gonna fire him anyway, WHY keep him on the payroll. He was Malone's selection. So it is obvious that they are still negotiating with Karl. They need to pay the man the going rate and quit screwing around !!!

honestly, in-game "we want karl" chants sound good to me. get it on the broadcast, force grant and jerry to acknowledge it, and the social media firestorm will follow suit, as will continued attention from local media. at the very least, vivek and co. will have to reckon with the fact that the kings' fan base is not full of dimwits who will simply lap up their nonsense simply because they "saved" the team; we expect them to be held accountable for their governance of the kings: "you fired a solid, defensively-minded head coach? fine, who's his replacement? and don't try to sell me on tyrone corbin. i'm not an idiot. give me george karl, and prove to me that your 'vision' will work."

As much as I may agree with the intent, I don't know what Corbin has done to deserve that treatment. Just would have the feel of being two wrongs ................

i think Corbin knows the fans wanting Karl is not about people not liking him. He's just in the wrong place at the wrong time, he didn't ask for this

Then why do it to him? Canning Malone in the manner and means it was done was tasteless, this just seems to be more of the same. But whatever, if you pay for your ticket it's your prerogative.

Great idea. I hope this goes through and the Crown Downtown guys manage to pull it off with the rest of the fans.

Our voices need to be heard.

How about the fans chant we want defense and and we want ball movement, does a coach seriously have to tell them that you have to do those things to be successful? This crap of how George Karl is magically going to come in and save us is complete crap in my book.

Until we clean up the roster and the players get back to playing some defense like they did at the start of the season we are on the brink of another embarrassing season and 1 season closer to Boogie jetting to Washington. We have for to long had to sit and watch a bunch of low IQ chucking followed by a completely lack of effort on D.

As good as Karl is no one man has the power to overcome the stupidity of NBA 3.0.

I want Karl also but I find it hard to believe that management is going to be influenced by the fans when it comes to hiring decisions. But if it make people feel better what the hell...go for it!

It's gotta be a George Karl chant to the tune of the Sacramento chant. You know Gor-orge Kar-l (clap, clap, clap clap clap).

We want Karl (or is it Carl) might be too confusing.

As someone pointed out, I think it's best to be clear what the intent is so we don't end up with good ol Carl Landry as coach of the team, or worse than that, playing heavy minutes. This FO is prone to fits of rampant impulsiveness and stupidity. They don't need any more confusion.

Such a chant would be disrespectful to Corbin and I don't want that and he doesn't deserve that. Also, I' d rather the Kings hire a coach because they want him rather than because the fans chant a name. So, no, don't do it.

Timing might be everything. Before the game, during breaks between quarters and at half-time would be fine with me. It wouldn't show disrespect, nobody would confuse it with Carl Landry (seriously?!) and it does get a message across that I think the fans have a right to voice and the front office needs to hear.

Remember, it was fairly well acknowledged back in the day that the reason we didn't end up with Whisenant as a head coach was because the fan base, including a big push by Kingsfans.com, made it clear he wasn't what we wanted in a coach.

You never know what might happen until you try. Kings fans have always been vocal, they've always left no room for doubt on where they stand. I don't have a problem with a "WE WANT KARL" campaign - and I don't think it will hurt Corbin's feelings. I'm pretty sure he already knows how the majority of the fanbase seems to feel.

I bet Ty Corbin would crack up if there were George Karl chants. Better for him if he is put out of his misery now versus keeping the seat warm for Mullin next year. I don't think concern for Ty Corbin's feelings should enter the equation.

I'm hoping there are chants. I won't be at the game but I will be at the Knicks game the next day and I hope there are chants then.

The front office has to be pushed hard. Vivek seems to have a fetish with saying "I told you so" and I don't think he would mind digging in his heels on Chris Mullin as coach starting next year even if it costs him season ticket renewals - he can weather that storm. So we have to make him very uncomfortable if we want to be heard. Nothing about Vivek's history in Sac suggests that he has any kind of an ear to the ground as to what fans want - so we need to break out the megaphone.

I honestly think Tyrone Corbin knows full well that everyone wanting Karl is not anyone throwing shade on him. He fully understands the situation here right now

I know we want to have our voices heard, but Ty Corbin is a stand-up guy and has done right by the organization. He's not a great coach by any stretch, but that doesn't make him a bad person. He didn't ask for this. He didn't ask them to fire Malone. He knows he is a lame duck coach. How humiliating would it be to have the fans chant for a different coach while he's on the sideline? I've been pretty damn down on the whole thing and want Karl here BADLY, but that just seems wrong. Kings fans want to talk about how unclassy how the organization handled firing Malone, lets not drop to their level.

There's a lot of tangents to this. I think it is a little jacked up to Corbin that we start a We Want Karl chant. I'm sure hes trying his hardest to work with what hes got. He didn't ask to be put in this place.

And on a side note **** you Vivek. You do realize that Corbin was MALONES man, not yours. No reason to throw Malone under the bus by saying that we would win more games this season with Corbin. You didn't even hire Corbin yourself and you know NOTHING about basketball to even be able to justify this claim. It would make more sense if Corbin was a fast paced style coach which you apparently think is the formula for winning but he's not. This isn't a tech business. We're not idiots.

Anyways, it might not have a huge effect since I'm sure the front office knows that the fans want Karl, but who knows. Maybe it'll be a tipping point. The only person it can hurt in this situation is Corbin and you know what, ill take a saved franchise over Corbins feelings any day.

I've sent my fair share of tweets to both of them (always in the same tweet). I wonder if they ever read those, or if they have someone to filter through all of that for them. Either way, I don't plan to stop. It's the one way i can get remotely close to telling PDA and Vivek how I feel.

I can't be at the game tomorrow, but for those going, I hope you get to be apart of an arena-wide chant

At first I was on the fence about doing this to Corbin who is a good guy and I'm sure he knows deep down he won't be here long either...however this maybe can sway Vivek to make his decision a little bit faster and get over his infatuation with Mullin.
