We could've landed Darko Milicic with just a bit more than we offered Mikki Moore.. Darko agreed on a 21M / 3 Year with Memphis and we offered 18M / 3 Year to Moore... thats real sad cuz if we're taking the path to rebuild, Milicic would've been a better signing...or we could just pull the trigger on the Bibby-Gooden trade then use our MLE to sign Steve Blake whos young and proved last year he can start, hes even a better playmaker than Bibby, not as good as a scorer tho... but now it's too late cuz he already signed with the Blazers...

I just hope Petrie has some plans in his pocket for Brad Miller and Kenny Thomas...

We didn't have more than the MLE to offer Darko, unless we worked out some sort of sign and trade deal. Of course, Bibby and Miller could have had some sort of value to the Magic, but we'll never know.

yeah, we could not match the Milicic money -- the Grizzlies went above the MLE to get him, and we could not. Would have been infinitely preferable, but financially just impossible unfortunately.

Um no, he probably didn't want a 4 year deal. He probably wanted a deal just long enough so his team will have his bird rights so he can get a better deal.

And that right there is what people have to start realizing. The Sacramento Kings ARE NOT an elite team with players knocking down the doors trying to get here. We're not quite as bad as we used to be, but there are lots of other teams who can offer a total package much better than what Sacramento can put on the table. For some, it might be the money. For others, it might be the location. For still others, it might be the other players and the coach.

Just because we want them doesn't mean they want us.

Yea, that's why we have to overpay. Just like we did with Mikki Moore, go after someone who cares more about getting a good contract and perhaps minutes than team success. I would've much preferred overpaid by giving out the full MLE to a young player with potential like Blatche.
