Thoughts???? I'm sure everyone knows we aren't... we're going through tough times just like any other fan did let's just enjoy a Kings season and hopefully Kings could atleast give it there all even if that means missing the playoffs.

we have the ability and talent to be a good team...if i was the coach, i would play price, skinner, and williamson more. skinner and williamson bring toughness to our team, and price proved the other night he can provide a spark comming off the bench. people might say "but skinner and corliss cant run the offense when theyre in" then get a new system! i know this topic has been beaten to death, but those are my thoughts...

The Kings are a lottery team - simple as that. There are only a few teams in the league with less ability and talent than the Kings.
But "in Geoff we trust" right? He has one of the most impressive collections of "tradeable pieces" in the league - which seems to have been his goal. But the team sucks on the floor.

wouldnt you agree that when these guys play (which is very rare), they play pretty well? and dont give up on price just yet, he's VERY young and is just now getting the chance to prove himself.

They do play, they bring jack and ****. How do you start players who can't even do well enough in the 2nd string?What we need is new ploayers. That means trades. The team needs an overhaul of a known player and 3-4 scrubs(bench) need to be packaged too.startingtohurt said:

I was watching the Turkish TV yesterday, and the hosts said Kings are the most disappointing team so far and every body has part of the blame. They said Kings look like Clippers of old this year. Only Wells play to win, other players are there just to show off, they do not really try to win, they play for stats and for other personal reasons. It is like they want to leave the team in a year or two. They do not show any effort on the defensive side and do not care about the team. They also said that Adelman does only know a single type of game. If that fails, or the players do not fit in that system he does not know what to do.
I guess these are all well known around here but it is interesting to hear from real outsiders.

The Turkish TV hosts are mistaken and falling into the same trap a lot of US announcers have fallen into.
A team cannot be a contending team every single year. When you have only 4 returning members on your roster who have at least 1 year of experience with the team, you are bound to have problems. Our players don't know each other well enough to trust each other, which I've mentioned in several other threads.
No, we are not a good team RIGHT NOW. We are a team rebuilding, trying to find the right pieces of the puzzle. It is not any one player's fault. It is the ebb and flow of team sports.
No, we are not a good team right now but we are not a BAD team. I was very proud of the effort our TEAM showed in the Mavericks game. Playing with TWO starters on the bench, we still contended and quite nicely until we simply ran out of steam.
I have faith and I believe this team WILL be good again. And I don't care what any sports "analyst" here, there or anywhere, says.

It still amazes me people are shocked by this. We are a team comprised of good players, some role type players and rookies/young guys. None of our 'good' players are great players, or players that elevate others around them, they never have been. Hell, word came down from Petrie (and Adelman) before the season started, that pretty much laid all this out, except no one (hardly) listened, convinced that this team had no chance of missing the play offs, or losing a lot, or just plain sucking because, well, they were the Kings.
Will we be good again? Yes, someday. Are we a contending team? Um, not this year, but it's pretty hard to contend each and every year, unless you are the Jazz, and we all know how hardly no one wanted to be like the Jazz

And a lot of reporters had this team picked to win the pacific for a good reason. Of course that reason hasn't left the paper it was written on.
Their criterion was the current level of play with respect to preseason expectations. They also found NY disappointing, not due to their record because they expected Knicks to struggle but because they didn't see any positive changes so far. They said that Knicks do not even try to play "the right way" as LB says.
Anyway, VF21, I agree that this team can get better, but IMO they can at most be a lower seed playoff team with this roster. It is not like Kings should enter a rebuilding mode but one or two players from the current team must definitely be traded to address the team needs, i.e. rebounding and defense.

Unless and until they are, this isn't a team that's going to make the playoffs, let alone win the division. I've loved this team for far too long to act as though I cannot see the forest for the trees.

If Detroit is an example of the whole being greater than the sum of it's parts the Kings are an example of the whle being LESS than the sum of it's parts. A starting 5 that loog great on paper and woefull on the court. There are many parts needed in this rebuilding stage but the number one part is a player who brings LEADERSHIP. then we can talk about defense and rebounds 6th man etc.
