Moves impressively, on both ends actually -- athleticism should not be a concern and looks like he can run and guard the perimeter. Showed a Duncanesque bank shot there too. On the downside needs to become better at reading and passing out of doubles, and oddly for such a strong rebounder he might be the only big man I have ever seen who wants to leak out on the break rather than get back inside for a rebound after he gets pulled up high on pick and rolls and whatnot. Put him and Kevin together and you'd spend half the night playing 3 on 5 defense while they competed for prime cherry picking position.

I'm going with pre-injury Kenyon Martin, right down to the awkward jumper that somehow manages to go in. But I can definitely agree he's absolutely nothing like Boozer.

I don't know if he's quite as explosive as Martin, but the quickness and overall athletic ability is similar yea. Martin played tough D though, Griffin doesn't look interested in doing that.

Getting manhandled in there by Pittman -- looks impressive physically but its obvious who has the real power between the two. Pittman is wearing him down and Griffith is getting pushed out of position for every rebound. And they don't get any smaller/weaker at the next level.

This has always been my concern with him -- he's just not that big. He's definitely athletic, but at the next level his size and strength are not going to stand out. He's still going to have that athleticism, but so much of his game is based on being the biggest, most athletic guy on the floor rather than on real fundamentals. He's sure to have a role, but I don't think he's sure to be a star.

Both Pittman and Griffin are listed at 6'10", yet Griffin looks to be 2-3 inches shorter than Pittman. Could mean this dude's no bigger than Kenny Thomas.
So many PF's fail to make an impact because of size...scouts always say, "yeah, he's undersized, but..." People fail to realize that guys like Barkley & Boozer are exceptions to the rule, and not the standard. Latest example: Beasley, Michael (6'7" w/o shoes).

I think Griffin will be a star in the nba. Tonight I think he showed nice post moves with perhaps excellent touch on his shots to go along with powerful athleticism/dunking ability. He blocks out well so his rebounding ability has a very good chance of translating. I was very impressed with his speed tonight. Also, contrary to brick I thought he was impressive with his quickness passing out of the double team. Finally, despite his lack of elite shot blocking ability in college I think that if anyone could be taught how to block shots at a higher rate, Griffin would be a leading candidate as he has above average instincts in other phases of his game to go along with elite athleticism for his size.

From watching Griffin tonight (only got to see parts of it) and of everything else that I have seen...I am not totally sure that I really care for him.
Yes, he is a good player.
Yes, he is going to do well in the NBA......but I am not 100% sure he is going to be amazing and unsure if he is what we need in the future.
I have no problem being wrong about this. If we do get him and he is amazing in the future then I am totally fine with it

Also, Boozer and Barkley have/had elite lower body strength that allows them gain post position that Griffin simply doesn't have.

why are you guys putting boozer and barkley in the same sentence? Barkley was listed at 6'6", about the size of a 2 guard. Boozer is listed at 6'9" which is basically the average height for the position. Right now Griffin is listed at 6'10" and while I understand that often times the college listings are skewed, even if Griffin measures out to be 6'8 and 1/2" then I think his athleticism and drive will allow for his skills to translate to the nba quite well.

I'm still not a believer. He doesn't excite me - at all. I like some things about his game, especially the work on the bank shot, but he's just not much of a game changer. He really seems like he'll be a workman-like player in the NBA, not a star. He doesn't have the fluidity that you want to see to do great things at the next level. Not a great defensive player. Doesn't flash like a Beasley. Monroe, on the other hand, can be a star, despite on-again off-again softness. Teague can be a star because of his scoring ability. I'd probably take about five players ahead of Griffin right now, probably more. Heck, even the raw Aminu I'd take over Griffin because his ceiling is sooo much higher higher than Griffin (I'd take the risk) if I knew Aminu had a good work ethic.
