Geoff's second round pick choices this year were horrendous--everyone knew that Sean Singletary and Patrick Ewing Jr were pretty much undrafted types, and there was still a wealth of talent touted from the draftniks (DeVon Hardin, Richard Hendrix, Bill Walker in particular) still available. At least Geoff traded them and got them away--but still, the second round picks could've been useful. Other than that, we haven't had a 2nd rounder since 2004--and I liked Ricky Minard (a small school guy who jumped into the radar suddenly, somewhat like Kevin Martin) but the cards just didn't fall his way. I agree with the idea that Geoff doesn't have much appeal for 2nd rounders, but if you look at what other teams have done with late 2nd/undrafted diamond in the rough types--Golden State (Anthony Morrow, Azubuike, Kurz?) and Dallas (Marquis Daniels, Jose Juan Barea, Josh Powell) then you can see there's some clear success with it. I think Geoff's a tad too conservative here, and he ought to be a Pritchard and stockpile more of these picks so we can keep them or use them as bargaining chips, rather than keep trading them away. Sack those veterans for picks.
