COMMENTARY | Jimmer Fredette of the Sacramento Kings may be the backup point guard the Washington Wizards so desperately need. In their quest to shore up a position that's in dire need of help, the Wizards should consider looking in the direction of the sharp-shooting Fredette, who could be available as the NBA trade deadline quickly approaches. Here's why striking a deal for Fredette makes a ton of sense for the Wizards: Fredette can flat out shoot the basketball

We also are in need of a backup pg unless the ultimate plan is to make a trade for a starting pg and have IT come off the bench. Unloading Jimmer now in a trade that doesn't give us a semi-functioal backup pg would leave us in a very bad place although I am somewhat convinced that this is what the FO is shooting for. Get the big pieces and get a high draft pick all at the same time. There is no doubt in my mind that the FO knew the Gay trade would leave the team horribly vulnerable at pg.

Really doubt that this is something that happens. Wizards are in playoffs mode meaning they are going to want to gather vets to put around their young talent. They would be better off with Miller.

Supposing this does happen, you're right. The Kings would need to trade some other players for a point guard as Garrett Temple is really not that guy. (I had forgotten he was a King a few years ago.)

Garrett Temple was a King? Hrm...

Temple then signed a 10-day contract with the Sacramento Kings on March 3, 2010,[4] After that contract expired on March 13, 2010, he signed a 10-day contract with the San Antonio Spurs

I never would have remembered that.
