[Game] Warriors @ Kings - 10/23/13 - pre-season

I have to give credit to IT, challenging Curry and his overall intense nature woke this team up. Yes he shoots way too much but he also injects some life and energy to the team. B Mac looked good too, didn't back down from the moment, missed his tying 3 but wrestled the ball away from Igoudala(a beast of a specimen). The fish probably just won the starting SF spot, for what thats worth.

I think what impressed me most was how the whole bench came up to congratulate Salmons and the rest of the guys when they took the lead. That's chemistry, folks, and that's what's gonna make the difference. :)

So....for the 2nd game in a row, the team comes from way back...this time pulling out the win. And the Warriors had their guys in down the stretch. Ben needs to be on the floor. Makes shots, hustles like crazy, defense has to follow his constant movement which creates some problems or at least makes it more difficult.....like the kid.

exactly what i was thinking. that was the loudest preseason NBA crowd i have ever heard
Remember back in the day, before the kings were a playoff team, but Arco was still one of, if not the best atmosphere in the NBA. It won't take long to get back there, if we have an entertaining team that leaves everything out there

So we were down 84-70 with about 9 minutes left. Then we brought it to 84-72 when IT got a layup on a nice assist from Ben. Then Ben drew an offensive foul to get us the ball back. Then Ben drew a foul on a 3 point attempt and brought the score to 84-75. PPat went 1 of 2 from the line to make it 84-76. Ben went 1-2 from the line, and made it 84-77. Next he hit a 3 and made it 84-80.

Conclusion? Ben was a stud in the fourth.

That much noise and support from an announced 12,260 fans in attendance? Bring earplugs next week, fellow Kings fans, cause we're gonna blow the recently repaired roof off Sleep Train Arena!

Ben McLemore is 20 years old. During summer league I used to have to remind myself of that fact. No more. He's just getting better and better with each game in pre-season and certainly deserves to start. Heck he might be the leading candidate for ROY in no time. What a budding NBA talent and he's ONLY 20!!

"In my opinion, we can shock the whole league this season" said GV. I like the optimism and I love the heart! It's gonna be special. Hell, it's special already. And yes, I know I'm babbling. I'm giddy. :)

exactly. he is already proving that he can compete just fine against NBA starters (unlike Jimmer). and tonight he was doing it when it mattered most, against the starting lineup of a playoff team. the kid needs to start, no doubt about it

I agree and I'm giddy too. My opinion (high regard) for GV has not changed one bit. He's still bit rusty and was pressing at times in this game. Still, GV was looking to set up DMC and work inside out - and that's key for Kings on offense.

On another note, I can't believe how exciting these Kings-GSW games are no matter if 125-124 triple overtime or like tonight 91-90. Every game is much watch!

You're making perfect sense, simply because..first we still have our team and second the culture and passion is already noticeably much improved

Ok, let me say this: Ben got smoked on defense in the first half, and he could not dribble at all all game long.

But then again given what his competition showed/has shown there is a why not aspect to it even if you are honest about his limitations.

I just can't believe the way McLemore took that last offensive board, and then got rid of it safely. That was badass! Blew my mind
Agreed! And then he was last line of defense against David Lee slashing in the paint going up strong against the rook - but M16 was just as strong in a block shot attempt. Then Lee missed last FT - and KINGS WIN!

McLemore's finger prints were all over this VICTORY!
