I really hope that Horford and any other FA who is waiting on GS to figure out the Kuminga fiasco, I hope they sign elsewhere ruining the GS plans
It is a complicated way to tell the league, "We are tanking the season for the draft."
The warriors: we don’t want Malik Monk but we do want old over the hill Seth Curry (at this point Thanasis but capable of hitting an open three), DeAnthony Melton coming off of an Achilles injury, and 57 year old Al Horford.

Unclear to me just what the hell it is they want. Seems to be Ellis or Keegan plus draft compensation. F no to that. We've given them offers better than almost anyone gets in these scenarios. I'd say let him ride it out until Golden State's signings go elsewhere then sign the deal and go to the high bidder next year. Probably won't be us but I don't want to give in out of desperation and let GS off the hook for alienating their players and being jerks. Doing nothing but waiting harms their season far more than it does ours. I don't really care if we finish 15th as long as we try hard this year.At this point I would give Golden State what they want.
I'd say go for it if neither Keegan nor Keon is involved. Two more weeks to make something happen... This seems like the only option left on the table (if it ever truly was on the table) which might rescue this upcoming Kings season from misery. At this point I would give Golden State what they want. They get to declare victory and possibly save face in front of their fans (which I think is all they really care about) and we get one step closer to a reset around a younger core with two-way potential. I really don't think Kuminga is coming to Sacramento as a Free Agent next summer if he has any other options (and he will) so if Scott Perry was ever serious about bringing in Kuminga, now is the time to get it over the finish line.
And if we do manage to pry Kuminga loose from Golden State, we're still going to have a Schröder / LaVine starting back-court this season but the coaching staff should start now developing Nique Clifford as a pick and roll ball handler. If Clifford and Kuminga are good enough as playmakers (or at least as iso shot creators) to compliment Sabonis' playmaking skills, maybe next season we could start Keon Ellis and Nique Clifford together in the backcourt. With Ellis, Clifford, Murray and Kuminga on the floor together I think we could get away with starting a smaller big man without a lot of rim protection talent because the other team is going to be walled off from the paint anyway.

I'd still want top 5 or something but would let go of lottery protection beyond that.I meant agree to keeping less protections on the draft compensation. If they're holding out for Ellis or Murray, then they're delusional and that's obviously a no from me too.
I think because of the Bird rule being involved it will have to wait 4 months not 3 from the signing date. So if he signed today we're looking at Jan 15 before he can be traded. Also because the signings they intend to make after will hard cap them it would need to be an exact match, and I think I read in that article they needed to cap him at 22 and change to stay under that 2nd apron cap to get all the other guys they wanted signed. The report I saw is they increased their offer to 3/75. That lines up pretty perfectly with a Demar trade if it's a flat 25.
Last season the Warriors had a ton of issues scoring the ball even when Jimmy/Curry played. Demar would be the perfect bench leader to help increase their offensive output.
Doesn't it make more sense for both teams anyways at this point to just wait until December? Sign the contract, and Dec 15th we do Demar + some sort of picks for Kuminga.

I may be off. @Capt. Factorial will be in to correct me.
Trade GS either Monk or Derozan. Otherwise eff them. On a side note, I absolutely would not trade an unprotected first for Kuminga. I don’t think he’s going to play winning basketball…..why do you think GS doesn’t want him.
I’d take the same offer they are showing GS and see what other wing is out there.
