Warriors/Bobcats trade...

#1
the Bobcats traded the draft rights to Brandon Wright along with there second pick they selected the guys names esapes me right now, anyway in return the Bobcats got Jason Richardson from the Warriors.

I think this is a great trade for the Bobcats. They needed a good shooting guard much more than they needed Brandan Wright, and meanwhile don't Biedrins and Wright duplicate each other? I don't see why the Warriors did this.

If the Celtics/Seattle was a lose/lose, this si a win win.

Biedrins is jsut a limited scrapper in there. Wright is a gazelle with a huge upside as a perfect PF for Don Nelson. Maybe even a center.

Meanwhile MJ just patched a titanic hole in his lineup with a 20ppg scorer, and set up a swingman pairing with JRich and Wallace that dueled for the slam dunk title a few years back. They are going to be nasty.

No, not really. Wright has a lot of potential on the offensive side of the ball. Plus he moves up and down the court well, fitting their style.

I think the trade is pretty even. Charlotte got their experienced guard and the Warriors get a big man with lots of potential that can move up and down the floor.

Still, I don't like a trade invlove trading my rookie big man for veteran, if not on the decline yet, guard.

I might be able to understand if the Bobcats are on the win-now mode.... but they aren't....

Don Nelson was putting Steven Jackson as PF, Wright would be their full time C. :D

J-Rich has 4 years and 48 million left on his contract. With that contract I would have said thanks but no thanks.
And bad knees. This is not the same J-rich as the slam dunk champ. The Warriors were wise to unload him before he has a second straight down year.

I disagree, this trade not only sets back the Warriors BIG TIME right now, this may be a horrible trade when looking back on it. Plus they give up Jermareo Davidson who I think is a sleeper.

Of course there is the chance Wright is the next KG like some think but I doubt it.

Wright reminds me of swift.
There's absolutely nothing similar about them. Swift is Dumb, possibly the dumbest basketball player in the league. His one trademark was the fact that he had ridiculous athleticism and an NBA body. The guy was ripped when he came into the NBA.

Wright on the other hand, needs to bulk up a ton, but has already proven that he has a brain and can play at the highest level. Swift dominated college purely based on the fact that he was bigger, stronger, and faster than everyone else. His athleticism alone won him games.

Wright doesn't have that type of strength and played much more of a finesse game which requires actual talent and skill.

Other then Athleticism the guy can't do anything else. He can't hit a jumper, he can't dribble, not much of a rebounder, I could go on and on the guy is a huge project just like swift. He may be smart but he doesn't have much basketball skills, that is the reason way he fall from 2 to 7 on most mocks. Even most of the workouts showed how much work this guy needs.

Does this mean the Bobcats still keep Wallace?
I say no. Wallace played some Power Forward last season, but that's in no way his natural position. So essentially they've got Morrison and JRich to play the shooting guard and small forward positions. If they re-sign Wallace, is #3 pick Adam Morrison going to spend his whole career on the bench? I think this is a sign that Wallace won't be retained.

Of course they are keeping him -- he may be their MVP. It will be JRich and Gerald at the 2/3, adn that's going to be nasty. Morrison is no longer a concern -- a likely bust who might develop into a decent swingman off the bench, or could get traded.

There are now rumors on ESPN that the Warriors are going after Garnett, and that this trade may have something to do with it.

Well we...um....we're maybe going to invite Kyle Visser to our summer league team! Maybe.

So there! :p

This is cool though, while the Arena in Okalnd is rocking, I will be able to sneak in to games at Arco and pay for courtside seats with a Happy Meal. Maybe I'll sit next to the Maloofs ans just periodically slap them. ;)

I had a feeling Richardson would be hard for Jordan to pass up. This would have been for Yi if Milwaukee didn't mess everything up. Minny, Charlotte, and Chicago were all threats for allowing GS to move up ahead of us because they all could use what GS was dangling.

Gerald Wallace is aka "God" in Charlotte. Absolute fan favorite - how often do you get a SF who can lead your team in scoring, rebounding (heck, his average in the NBA is higher than our center's in college), steals, be your best defender at the same time, and play with the kind of energy and effort that he does?

Who in their right mind would let go of this:

in favor of ADAM MORRISON?!?!

Remember that first half he had against, I think the Lakers, on Christmas Day 2003, I think it was? I am still so bitter that we didn't leave CWebb or Christie unprotected. Especially CWebb - there was NO WAY the Bobcats would have taken that contract on.

*sigh*

Yep, that was one of the most stupid decisions in recent memory. Webber's contract would have been like twice of Charlotte's total salary at the time. No way they would have touched him.

I seriously would of considered trading Kevin Martin for the #8 pick(Brandon Wright)

Think about it. Bigs like him only come once in a while in the NBA draft. The guard position is easier to fill then the forward or center position.

Brandon Wright is gonna be a beast in the nba. That insane wingspan, athleticism to go along with his skills set makes him a must have.
