Vivek just went on record saying that he will be disappointed if the team isn't good in a few years. A FEW YEARS? That's as telling as it gets that Cousins will be traded. He will end up being traded in one of two scenarios: Star for Star ala Mitch for Webb or to a team who has a high pick they can give up + a potential or emerging star because they have the cap room and/or an abundance of picks and young talent to become competitively quickly. Boston, LAL fit that bill. LAC for Blake Griffin or Hou for Harden fits the first. There is no chance DeMarcus is a King when the new arena opens.

I took nothing out of context. It was an interview with Tony Bizjak. My belief from watching the interview is that the Kings organization, which begins and ends with Vivek Ranadive, has fully backed off their win-now position, faced reality about the future of their star player and will be using him as a chip to make this team better. If you don't take kindly to my language, I don't take kindly to your basically calling me a liar or an imposter. So again, if you what he said, why would you call me out for saying what he said?

Honestly it is just best for all sides for a trade to happen. Get rid of Karl, hire a coach for the future, trade Cousins for young pieces and picks. Wouldn't it be great to move into the new arena and not have to worry about " Will Cousins get along with new coach?", "Gotta win or Demarcus will demand trade or walk". Just give us a new core of younger, hungry pieces that respect the game, respect coaching, play the right way. Look at Denver, they are fun to watch and are already better than us, they have no all star. Just young guys that are hungry and some solid vets around them with a young coach that is hungry also. Give us that and I will be happy.

My objection to your comments was your take that this indicated Cousins would definitely be traded.
None of us know, of course, what will happen. I still have faith in Vlade and hope he can somehow fix this. The idea of watching Demarcus Cousins break NBA records for years to come in another uniform makes me physically ill.
I'm going to quit discussing some of this stuff, however. Emotions are running way too high. We fans are turning on each other like starving hyenas and that's not why I watch basketball.

The portion of the Vlade interview I saw was during the pre-game on Friday, I think. I'll try to do a better job of posting links for those of you who aren't able to see all the stuff.
To be honest, there's more crap floating around right now than there was during the worst of the Maloofian insanity. I just wish we (meaning the fans) could catch a break once in a while. We deserve so much better than this.
It might come to this, and for decades the Kings will end up being known as the messed-up franchise that was handed a superstar and totally ruined every opportunity we had to succeed with him. That will be a bitter pill to swallow.

Plain and simple, all parties need a fresh start. Sting said it best with "If you love somebody, set them free." The organization has given DeMarcus the latitude repeatedly to be free to be himself. They have been patient and forgiving. Incompetent all the while, yet holding out hope he will change. He can't change here. He wont change here. So, we will set him free.

Oh yes this franchise has handled Demarcus wrong since the beginning. He should have been put in his place and disciplined 5 years ago. Demarcus also has to look in the mirror if and when he gets traded and ask himself "Did I do everything I could to make it work?" Unfortunately to this day he is still playing the victim and seems incapable of thinking that "hey I may be part of the problem as well". This whole situation is just so toxic and polluted its best for all parties to just wash their hands get a fresh start. Also we are already the biggest laughing stock in the league, our reputation cant get any worse. Basically for us to ever regret trading Cousins he would need a complete attitude overhaul and that isnt going to happen in Sacramento folks.

Just announce something as settled, get out ahead of the pack, and try to convince everybody to fall in behind the inevitable. It offers solace to those already inclined to follow. Sows doubt in those who are not. But there is nothing more to it than any op ed yesterday, the day before, and not much than those a month before. No new evidence. No new quotes. Just Ailene projecting and using what she needs to create her little facade. Its a rhetorical device, one in very common use amongst my particular profession. I dont care what the lakers or clippers offered IF they really are interested in cousins, I just can't believe the Kings would even consider sending him to LA. The potential for this to blow up in their faces should make a potential trade to either LA team a total no go.
You think that bitter pill of IT is hard to swallow? Imagine cousins straightening out the lakers or finally getting the clips their trophy. Imagine us having to deal with cousins coming into our brand new arena and helping the damn lakers crush us on a regular basis. Sorry, thats too much for me to imagine.

Real talk I'll loose my crap if he won with ****ing doc " little *****" Rivers and CP. The good thing there is yes Blake is a great pick up but he has a player option after this year. You'd have to be a moron to trade DMC for a year rental.
Lakers on the other hand id hate as well but atleast we'd be getting back Russell and a top 3 pick.
(Which by the way is offer Chicago Gay/Ben/LaL 1st/ our 1st for Butler)
And there's no doubt in my mind that DMC if trade will win a ring in 2-3 years.

She was pointing out the definitive fallacy in your argument, when you were predicting a Cousins trade by equalizing "disappointed if the team isn't good in a few years" and "Cousins staying means the team won't be good".
Just because you are having the opinion of "Cousins staying means the team won't be good", that doesn't mean that it is a fact. It's a very basic fallacy in your argument. (But given the uprising of social media debates, a lot of people don't really gear with the skill of debating logically.)

Do I like the idea of trading a player of his caliber? Absolutely not. But his constant divide and conquer act ain't gonna change. Not here. There is no choice here. It's irreconcilable. He's gone. His anger is escalating and the organization will make his departure official this summer. The DeMarcus era will be deemed a total failure. And yes, one can hope they don't deal him to a hated rival, but talent acquisition must be at the forefront, not fear of how many rings he may get at our expense.

She's just bitter like most of us are that the best talent we'll ever see in our lifetimes (sorry Cwebb) is about to leave. Like the last one. In disgrace, ran out of town by the rabid media and a fan base with no knowledge of NBA history.
What this specific argument is about isn't really relevant.
That's what we do here in Sacramento. We like lovable losers. Boogie ain't that, never will be. You want him to sit there with a crap eating grin while we lose, and lose, and lose?
