Voisin: Making his point

And THAT is the offense. That's the way it works.

BIbby giving the ball to Webber is how the Princeton offense runs. How its ALWAYS run. Forget the Kings, I actually watched it being played AT PRINCETON. High post big man is the primary weapon. That's not an aberration. That's not selfish. That's the offense.

And here's why it works if you can find a magical big man who can shoot and pass -- every single team in the league is set up and used to defend PGs handling the ball and passing. Every single PG is used to their man being the distributor. They know how to defend a standard offense. But systems such as the Princeton offense, or even to a lesser degree the triangle turn the whole thing on its head and make it very difficult to defend them. Big men who aren't used to guarding guys out on the floor are suddenly faced with a 6'9" point PF, guards used to stopping the man with the ball are suddenly chasing around a shooter without the ball and having to guard back door plays from weird sources. It makes things veryb uncomfortable for an opposing team who sees it only a few times a year.

Mike is not SUSPOSED to handle the ball all of the time. He's handling it more without Doug as a co-PG, but he's not susposed to run the offense. Webb is. That's how our system works. That's how we're special. That is "Kings basketball".

Mark it, stamp it and send it to Poison's mailbox!

Thank you for explaining the Princeton to me, have I said how much I appreciate your knowledge and demeanor? I really have learned alot from your b-ball knowledge. Looking up the Princeton Offense and how it works would be a good idea for me at this point. That is what rocks about forums such as this one.

So, last 5 years it was Vlade at the top dishing the plays, and I miss that because Web then played more in the paint. I notice it's Brad at the elbow and Darius in the paint when Web is off the floor. Web is a good passer and can shoot, but I miss his play in the paint. I realize his skills there have diminished since his injury, and he's doing what he does best now which is play out. But Brad is also branching out into the perimeter, and doing a good job at making his jumpers (GO BRAD!), however I still wish we had more production in the paint. Darius, Barnes & Evans are not afraid to ball there, and neither is Brad, he's just not very good at it, imo.:o

I give Brad and Web alot of credit for utilizing their skills to the best of their ability, and those skills are awesome, believe me when I say I think WEB HAS SKILLS AND IS AN AWESOME PLAYER. Just think he gets carried away with holding and shooting the ball instead of looking for other options.

Kings Passing Basketball is what has made us successful and famous, there's no disputing that. Is it a viable means to get the coveted ring though? I'm not a doubter, more of a "I WANT THAT RING!" fan, I admit it. :D

Brad's problem is that he just can't jump very high and therefore gets his shots blocked alot when he's in the paint.

Anyone know who the players Bibby recently blocked? I think he had one in that Knicks game and another recently besides Lebron.

In the last minute vs. Minnesota he blocked Wally I think.

yeah, wally's the other one.. :)

interesting side note: last year, bibby had a total of 18 blocks.. now, he has 20 already.. in only 46 (?) games :)

You know Voison is getting really rediculous when the Rise Guys are talking about how much of a hater towards Webb she is! They mention it everytime now. Took them awhile for them to finally see it. But looks like they'e finally seen the light. About time.

In the Bibby vs. Manu debate, if it comes down to one spot (assuming Kobe plays, then they pick Nash and Allen [cause Suns need two players and Sonics have to have one]), I think Manu goes, if for no other reason than the fact that the Spurs have the best record in the West, and they can't just have one all star when Phoenix (and presumably Sacramento) would have two. Of course, if Marion goes as a forward instead of CWebb, then the Suns could have three, and Bibby goes instead of Manu b/c the Kings need one player on the roster. Will be interesting to see how things are picked today.
