Vivek and His Bicycle Crash

Noticed his black eye in the Mullin Press Conference.. He just posted this pic on Twitter.. says it was a bicycle crash.

That looks like quite a nasty crash. At least he wasn't "seriously" injured. Wonder where it happened? Near his home in Atherton or maybe American River bike trail?

My brother had a crash on his road bike that looked worse than that. I would assume he was probably cruising at about 20mph or so and then flipped over his handlebars (for whatever reason). The injuries look the same as what I get when I flip over the bar on the road

A co-worker and his girlfriend were trail riding a month or so ago. She took a tumble and fractured her pelvis in 3 places. Ouch. I don't know how skinned up she was though.

I think assumption is Vivek was not wearing a helmet. It's totally legal to not wear one riding a bicycle in California - at least for adults. Maybe he was wearing a Kings ball cap but learned lesson to always have helmet on in the future.
