Here it is, back by popular demand... Some more of my favorite sites.

1. This site is really original. If you have heard about The Underground Railroad in history, but never really knew very much about it, you'll find a lot of very interesting information here. I think it should be mandatory for students. http://www.nationalgeographic.com/railroad/

2. I originally found this next site while looking up some stuff on one of the lighthouses on Lake Superior. I ended up spending a lot of time because it's fascinating. Be sure and check out all the photo galleries. There are some really great pictures. http://www.boatnerd.com/

(Big Bay Point Lighthouse - now a Bed and Breakfast)

3. I love movies. I love old movies, new movies, good movies, and bad movies. And an integral part of that life-long love affair with the cinema is my total and complete fascination with movie bloopers. After finding this site the first time, I found myself watching movies two or three times just to see if I could spot a NEW blooper. http://www.moviebloopers.com/

4. The motto of this next site is "Your Source for Defenseless Ephemera Since 1996." The creator of the site says, "Welcome to Lileks.com, which is a wreck. Always has been, and probably always will be. Why? Well, blame the internet. This thing began in the spring of 1996 – a three-room shack. I’ve added and added and added until it’s become an endless labyrinth that defies repair. By all means, come on in; I just can’t guarantee you’ll make it out." I check this site regularly; there's always another "room" to explore. http://www.lileks.com/

5. Fonts, fonts and more fonts. If you can't get enough of them, then this site is for you. There are links to about a gazillion different font makers. http://www.fontlover.com/

6. Ah, the good old days. When a video game consisted of two on-screen paddles, a blip, a line down the middle of the screen and a very distinctive sound. The name of the game? Pong! If you want to take a trip back down memory lane, this site - dedicated to the father of the video game, Ralph H. Baer - is something you'll enjoy exploring. http://www.pong-story.com/

7. We're lucky. 2005 isn't a political year per se. Because of that, we aren't being totally inundated with those annoying, endless political advertisements. If you're really a fan of TV presidential commericals, then have I got good news for you. You can still see them! I'm not making any kind of political statement. Personally I think TV commercials are going to be history's window on all of us... http://livingroomcandidate.movingimage.us/index.php

8. If you occasionally feel that being on the Internet doesn't do enough to stimulate your brain cells, then you'll love this site. Everything from optical illusions to brain teasers, puzzles and more. http://www.mindbluff.com/

9. If you're into Astronomy, you might want to check out this site. The picture changes daily - and I've seen some absolutely unbelievable pictures since I've been visiting there. The daily picture includes an explanation written by an astroner. Be sure and check out the archives, too! (The picture for Aug. 29 is a riveting picture of Katrina...) http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/

10. There are lots and lots of sites that have pictures of London, England. This one, however, is different. You're not going to see the typical tourist-type photos here. You'll see pictures of everything from neighbor pubs to cemeteries, graffiti to toilets. The over 800 pictures were all taken by one individual. http://www.derelictlondon.com/derelict_london_com.htm

11. I've seen a lot of recipe sites. I have several bookmarked for use. This one is one of the most fascinating because it lives up to its name: Cheap Cooking. There are shopping tips, tons of recipes, etc. One of my favorites is Crockpot Cranberry Pot Roast. It's really easy AND good! http://www.cheapcooking.com/index.htm

I hope you enjoy the sites.

thanks for all the sites

There's several here that look interesting especially #8 before my brain turns to dust. I'm hoping they have some vegetarian recipes, need some new ideas.
thanks VF.
