Amundson is awesome as rebounder, has long arms (for a white guy) and has been all over Hilton Armstrong the hornets 1st round draft choice; Douby knocks out inbound pass; Williams in for Amundson; Lampley in for Artest; Douby 2 FTs; give and go to Kevin but no finish, fouled, 2FTs; 24-14 Kings @ 1:10; Kings D is tough!!! Lampley shoots airball from 10 ft; Williams flying block of Fizer attempted dunk!!!! 24-14 Kings at end of 1st quarter;

Definitely still loving this Amundson guy. Artest sounds like he's doing fine, ditto Kevin. :)

I seriously see us keeping at least two or three of these guys for training camp, and having two on the roster...

Here is 2nd quarter:
Pooh in w/Cisco, Douby, Williams and Lampley; Douby misses 24 ft 3; Fizer uses off arm but Lampley gets foul; suddenly its only 26-22 Kings @8:14; 4th foul on Kings in 2 min of 2nd Qtr, very agressive defensive; Fizer is a moose and stumbles in middle and bulls way for fouls but not making any close in shots; amundson in for Williams; 2nd goal tend on kings past 90 sec; Hornets sub entire 5 and back to original starters; artest back in, a 2 by Pooh on long rebound; Amundson defense is smothering Hornets big men; Douby for 2 from Artest; Amundson rebound missed hornet shot, outlet to Douby, behind the back bounce to Cisco for easy layup; 34-25 Kings @ 5:31 left in 1st half;

Kevin and price back in, original 5 Kings starters now on floor. 2 quick defensive fouls by kings the defensive 3 sec; amundson hustles for rebound in crowd gets fans up (he is from UNLV) and has put back in a crowd again; Kevin for 2 FTs; 38-28 Kings; Artest block but fouls flying dunk attempt---WOW!!! every hornet drive to bucket is met with 1-2 kings and agressive defense; another offensive reb by Amundson on artest miss, fouled and makes 2 FT 40-30 Kings;

Kevin for 3 from head of key; Price is real pest to Hernandez on hornets; next time down Price throws up Alley-Oop to Amundson who goes high above rim!!! place goes nuts!!! another steal and Price hits a 3 in transition; 48-31 Kings; Kings knock another hornet pass out of bounds, seems like they have done that 4-5 times now; another shot clock violation by hornets, their 3rd so far; artest for 3 from the corner, 50-31; kevin fouled on end of another fast break; artest for 3 with 2 seconds left in half; Kings up 53-33 at half. Wow are they good.

Amundson can make you forget Bonzi real quick!! He is 2" taller than Artest and bigger and tough. Quite a find!! Has outshown Justin Williams big time in this game.

Ronnie Price has picked up his D as well and is not making mistakes.

Amundson has scored the first 6 of 7 points his quarter and gotten couple more rebounds.

My laptop power is way down so will have one more shot then will finish when I get back to my hotel.

Hornets gettin shutdown. :)

Good to hear Price is doing well.

J-Will I'm sure will be fine, and Amundson keeps sounding like a nice find.

Williams probably isn't getting as much time because Gray/Nicholson haven't played much yet.

Read that he did get a big block on dunk attempt though. Where as Amundson is an SF/PF-tweener so can get more time. And is playing center at times.

Regardless, I think J-Will has showed plenty to the Kings so far.

last input until I get back to hotel

3Q
slow start to 3rd. got to talking to locals watching Amundson; Kings stay up 58-38 at 6:42 left in quarter; artest steals a dribble from Fizer, Kings break, miss then putback by Amundson!! then Amundson blocks simmons jumper; next kings miss, hornets try to fast break and alley oop but kevin knocks the oop pass into the 2nd row!!!

Maraker in for Amundson; he is tall, pale and blond, oh yeah he is from Sweden; very quick feet for a big guy and stays in front of his man every time.; Kevin hits two from corner, 64-34 Kings at 2:39 of 3rd....... 3rd ends Kings up 66-47

4Q
A minute into 4th its 71-47. Ok will stop yaking to locals and pay attention. Battery down to less than 20% so will finish up after this when I get back to hotel.

Taj Gray now in with williams, maraker, pooh and Douby

True, true...

...I'm just really rooting for Williams to make the team. It seems like if he can adapt to the NBA, he'll be just what the Kings need in terms of rebounding and interior defense.

Amundson is soundin pretty good though. We can never have to many tweener fowards on the Kings!

We don't really have a player like Amundson on the team other than Bonzi though.

From reading vs. Wolves, Givony said J-Will can adapt to the NBA.

Thanks a ton for posting all this! It's greatly appreciated! I have a couple questions for you since you are there and able to see all this live. Who is playing the point is it almost all Ronnie Price or are they giving Douby and Cisco minutes there? If Douby has played any point how does he look there and also how has Price looked? How has Taj Gray looked? I haven't heard much about him so far.

Thanks for posting this. This Amundson sounds like a beast. Williams sounds great too. Can't wait to see if they can do it again in the next upcoming summer leagues.

Price was part of the starting 5 who played most of 1st Q and big time end third thru middle 4th when they were up 28!! In 1st Artest brought ball up most of the time or Kevin. Price some but not much. however, Price was always on the other Point Guard, in this case Hernandez from Stanford fame.

Douby played 1st team and thru 3 qtr had only 12:38 min. Thru 3 qtr, min played:
Price 17;05
Douby 12:38
Amundson 21.10
Kevin 27:10
Cisco 20:01
Artest 25:00
everyone else less than 7:50min

Taj Gray only got in last half of 4th

Why are they giving all the minutes to K-Mart and Artest?

Those minutes should go to the guys who need time to try to get a spot on the team...So what if the Kings win a summer league game...

Thru 3 quarters:
Kings 66 Hornets 47
Amundson had 12 of the Kings 34 rebs. Garcia 6 and 7 others with 2 or 3
Points: Kevin 20, Amundson 12, Garcia 6, Artest 12, everyone else 4 or less
FTs: 19/21 as a team!!!! Kevin was 13 of 15
Only 9 turn overs thru 3 qtr
7 Steals but there were another 6-7 that could be called steals
FG's 22/51
TOs 9 vs. 17 for Hornets

Thanks for the reply! Hopefully as the league goes on they will let Douby and Price bring the ball up more, I'm really curious to see if either of them has what it takes to get some minutes at back-up PG this season.
