Action Jackson: Jackson missed the Houston victory because of a strained right hamstring. The injury is mild and Jackson hasn't experienced a history of hamstring trouble. He'll rest as needed for precautionary measures.

His time until this point hasn't exactly been discouraging. In four games and an average of 17 minutes, Jackson shot 52 percent overall and 54 percent from 3-point range. Add an average of almost four assists to the former Sacramento King's preseason statistics and he's proven to be well beyond serviceable at age 32. Jackson's defense has come across as steady, as has his easygoing yet competitive demeanor.

--Bobbys avg 9 pts, 3.8 assists, 2 rebs,and 1 steal in 17 min plus those fg%'s

Yeah glad we got the injury proof Hart instead...

It may have been the right thing to do at the time, but I will NEVER be "glad" we "got rid of" Jackson. We never "get rid of" a Sacramento King, we simply make a trade for the good of the team.

It may not even have been that^. Time will tell... Bobby could have a big season in Memphis. Everyone knows the impact he can have coming off the bench, mostly because he has no ego about it. If you looked up team player in the dictionary there would be a picture of Bobby Jackson. He is a good fit for that lineup and is playing at a high level so far.

It was a sad day in Sac when Bobby Jackson was traded, you never like to lose a guy who has the kind of heart the he had. I hope he has a great break out season in Memphis and overcomes all the injury problems.

That said I think it was an appropriate move to trade him when it was done, hard thing to take simply because of the emotional bond, but I can't have my cake and eat it too.

Yeah, other than this mild injury, Bobby's been solid for the Grizz.

It's still the pre-season and Bobby has already had an injury. Sorry, but there is no way you can make the assessment that "other than this mild injury Bobby's been solid for the Grizz."

Bobby was always solid for us, too, except when he was out...

I miss Bobby and wish him nothing but good luck and success.

Ha...

Yeah it is still pre-season, but a whole lot of other players across the league have injuries this pre-season.

I certainly know he was great for us.

From what I've seen and read, I think he has fit in well there so far, and will continue to. Along with the Grizz's style/system. I'll certainly be watching, I'm a Grizz fan/enjoy them (whichever applies :P) anyway.

It's a pulled hamstring, it's just a pre-season injury at this point.

A little surprised at this one^. That happens to be my assessment too.

VF.. Bobby has a strained hammi, it's not really that big an injury. It's pre-season so they aren't going to push it, but it's not like it's something they should be all that concerned about. I'd put it about on par with say... a hip pointer.

I still maintain that Bobbys last 2 injuries were very freaky in nature and that he isn't really breaking down completely like some people think. Add to that the fact that he has played extremely well when he's been out there... and yeah, except for a mild injury he has been completely on fire for the Grizz, and once the season starts he will probably continue to be. Check the numbers as well as the word coming out of Memphis.

I'm sorry if I gave the wrong impression. The point I was attempting to make was that it just seemed odd to say "other than this mild injury Bobby's been solid for the Grizz" primarily because they've only been playing a couple of weeks.

Bobby Jackson only knows one way to play - flat out, you-know-what to the walls.

I may just be gun-shy, but ANY injury to a player plagued by injuries, freak in nature or not, would be cause for at least a little concern on my part.

I know this is way before your time, but there used to be a show called "Marcus Welby, MD"... I was reminded of the show with your "it's not really that big an injury" comment. The patients who initially came in to see the kindly Dr. Welby almost always had something minor wrong with them, until it was discovered they also had terminal thumb cancer or something else equally unlikely.

I don't know what I'm trying to say; I should probably stop. I just keep thinking about the minor abdominal pull, too...

:(

I certainly wish Bobby J a quick and complete recovery.

yeah whatever you say:rolleyes: . NO real kings fan was happy about that!!

I am a real Kings fan. Have been since the Richmond and Hurley days. I love the kings but I try to look at it at the business side of it. I love bobby jackson and loved what he brought to the team, but I am glad that we glad that we let him go because I couldn't stand another season of Jackson being injured.

I see what you mean now, I think I misunderstood you a little bit. I'm really pulling for Bobby this year, and maybe I was too touchy about it. You're right the way he plays does increase his chance for injury... of course now that he's no longer on the Kings that greatly decreases his chance for injury.

I like your comments. I am really pulling for Bobby J, as well. Then of course, I have been for years. :D
