Upcoming trip (Raptors, Pistons, Pacers)

Kings depart Sac 11 AM tomorrow (1/15) for Toronto. Since they're flying against time zones arrive late with probably no practice, just film, or very short work-out. Must go through customs entering Canada for further road trip delay. Anyway, winning against Raptors on Wednesday (1/16) is no slam dunk, by a long shot. Then it's travel after game back to Detroit, USA for day of practice at Auburn Hill, Michigan. Then play the Pistons (1/18) and the Pacers (1/19) in back-to-back contests. Hope we at least pay back the Pacers on this trip and 2-1 would be smashing!

you gotta remember we should have Bibby and Artest back for this whole road trip. Can't wait to see how Reggie uses everyone

Yep, I know. I think Bibby and Artest are coming off the bench for awhile just like Martin did. I'm not sure if any one of them is put back into the starting line up on this road trip - although Kevin's no doubt ready. As usual, the NBA is all about match-ups and I trust Coach Theus to wisely work it out that way - hoping egos don't get exposed.

it's sooooo nice to have a coach we can trust to make the right decisions

I'm very happy with Kevin in how he has personally handled coming back. He knows his physical limits in terms of mpg and is making full use of his "limited" playing time. I just hope it'll be the same for Artest and Bibbs.

On a side note, justin williams hasn't impressed me lately. He just looks lost on defense and offense. But experience will probably cure it, we just need a game against the twolves or something for him to get it.

That was the biggest downside to Justin Williams. He just doesn't have much of a basketball IQ. That's why I suggested - only partially joking - that he should just be taught the basics:

1. See ball.
2. Swat ball OR
3. Dunk ball.

Anything more complicated and the kid just doesn't get it. I like Justin. I like his heart, his hustle and his enthusiasm. He's just not the sharpest knife in the drawer IMHO.

Eddy Curry of the Knicks was Justin's hero since they played high school B-Ball together on the same team in Illinois. As least Williams went to college, something Eddy passed on when he jumped straight to the NBA. Curry gets dumped on constantly in the NYC press for not giving a damn, spoiled, out of shape, hard to coach, over-rated, and over-paid. At least guilt by association hasn't affected Justin Williams - or at least we hope that's the case.
