There may in fact be somebody with a loser mentality involved here.
I don't think its the team.
And penciling, nay penning in, losses to a Toronto team which we have owned for several years, and two eminently beatable teams in OKC and Houston is...well defeatist. Which I suppose is your right. Just don't try to conflate your defeatism with the team being quitters. They have shown none of that.
And frankly you people seriously need to watch the rest of the league more. If you did you would know that Dave Joerger certainly isn't going to quit.

After practice today coach Joerger reiterated it may take a few years to get things the way he wants, citing well run organizations like the Spurs. It seemed from his and Ben Macs after practice interviews it was addressed. I hope so. He is no Pop but I think given time Joerger can get us back to respectability.

It was foolish for people to expect Joerger to turn things around immediately. We were hot garbage on and off the court last year, it's going to take a while to fix this dysfunctional organization. I know we all want playoffs and success now, but we have to have patience. That could mean Cuz is gone before the ship is righted. I'm not a fan of that idea, but I have a lot of faith in Joerger and what he wants to do.

This speaks volumes on our lack of leadership.
We already knew Boogie was NOT a leader before this comment. It's not within the scope of his current level of consciousness to empathize and bond with the teammates around him. And Rudy is less of a leader than Boogie. I have never seen either of these guys rally the troops in pivotal moments. I have however seen both mope and self-implode when they are not playing the way the want to. But that's besides the point. There is tangible issues more pertinent than intangible.
And if Boogie is going to be 58% TS and 1.2 assist to turnover and fairly great defense, career best numbers heretofore unseen, so be it. We can ride with superstar level output despite the lack of inspiration to those around him. More pressing as I elaborated in my most recent rant is NOT a lack of leadership first and foremost, it is lack of help outside of (1) Boogie, (2) Rudy (3) DC since his return from being a naughty boy.
Aside from Ben and Temple, we have a TEAM OF UNDERACHIEVERS and middling journeymen. Vlade has entrusted this year iteration and free agent spending spree to guys who have bounced around, experienced recent decline, and not accomplished much in total, and we are seeing mere continuation of that. WHAT A SHOCKER!
The guys we needed to make a difference to get off to a .500 or better start: A-SLow-O, Lawson, Tolliver and holdovers Omri and Willie have been frankly terrible. A-SLow-O is NOT better than Seth Curry and the stats prove that out. And we paid A-Slow-O a veritable ransom: INSANE!!!!
At least Lawson was on a minimum deal. We have had 3-4 bad losses so far this season, which means a team has to win games they aren't suppose to win. That starts tonight.

And that's what needs to happen here. Regardless if Cousins is here or not, Joerger needs to be a constant for the long term and continue to bring in his style of players for the next two or three seasons.
In the Sac Bee's interview with Joerger that appeared today in the paper, Joerger lambasted the reporter for bringing up the shoot around. Said it was just a shoot around. He said he didn't seem to worried about it and was more annoyed than anything else. Typical overreaction to nothing.

HE'S the one that made it an issue when HE brought it up in the post-game comments, and took blame for the lackadaisical effort which (apparently) led to a lackluster start in the game!
How can he try to defer responsibility for that?

I bet Joerger is generally annoyed because in reality - the team is doing pretty well. I'm talking in REALITY. Yet people are acting like the sky is falling.
Somebody asked him what we could do to stop getting behind in games and he said "we could try not playing against Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, DeAndre Jordan, Tony Parker, Kawhi Leonard, and LaMarcus Aldridge every night."
Somebody asked if Omri should play more given Rudy's struggles in the last two games and he said "you mean give Rudy's minutes to Omri???" I wish I could see his face (probably on the net). It reminded me of a time when somebody suggested to Adelman that maybe Funderburke and Pollard should play more... Rick said "well Vlade is a lot BETTER than those guys". Hilarious.
I was as dismayed as anyone with the way we gave up 70% shooting in the first half, but I'm very excited about the Vlade/Joerger foundation that is being laid. Very excited indeed.

Actually, Joerger tricked that guy (and everyone else) with his reply:
The guy's question was immediately following Joerger's statement that he had seen enough and that he's going to play small.
This implies using Rudy at PF more, since neither Tolliver or WCS are realistic big-minute PF's thus far.
So the guy asks if he'd be using Omri more (implying as a SF).
Joerger misrepresented his question as "Omri taking away Rudy's minutes? Ha - don't make me laugh!"
The question is a very valid one.
Especially after the report that Joerger hasn't spoken to Omri since pre-season:

While I have been shocked at how badly Omri has played when he has seen the floor this year, this is simply not the way he should be being treated.
Omri has proven his skills in the NBA, and those skills fit very well into this team;s needs currently.
Plus, he's tight with Cuz and as Brick keeps saying, it's critical that Joerger keep on Cuz's good side.
I think Joerger's unexplained-as-yet and disrespectful treatment of Omri may bite him (and all of us) in the ass.

Joerger answering some of these questions like Popovich....sometimes the questions are just dumb. I also get the vibe that if you ask him about playing time in regards to anyone, your probably not going to get a great answer.
And Casspi is not a good fit with Joerger's system. He was a good fit in Karl's system that had zero structure.

You're making it up. Watch the interview tape and it was crystal clear that the reporter was suggesting that Omri should play BECAUSE Rudy is struggling. He even reiterated it before Dave mocked him. No doubt about the questioner's meaning or context. Watch the interview starting at 1:44.

The reporter initially started his question with " With Rudy struggling at the three...." as if to insinuate he has been terrible all season. Rudy has been crucial this season in keeping us from complete embarrassment. He had this one down game, and missed one against the Bucks. That hardly constitutes "struggling at the three".
