I was out there tonight with my girlfriend. We haven't been out there in a few years and had no plans tonight.
We finished up getting something to eat and stepped out into the crowded street. Then we saw a couple groups of officers push through the crowd nearly knocking people over to get to the scene. We didn't know what was going on or how serious it was at the time. I can even be seen smiling as I passed someone being interviewed (my mom called and said she saw me grinning in the background).
We're home now. Happy New Years anyway.
