Haha. They weren't kidding when they said he still has issues with the refs.
It was a clean block, but jeeze Cuz, its just a scrimmage!
I guess the fire is part of what makes him great. His one T goal last season was never going to happen. This year he should make the goal to get more 20/20 games than techs. I think that's doable!

Agreed, but its no question that its something that he can improve on. The question is: Is it a priority? It depends on the effects the technicals have on the team, in my opinion. It's something to improve on, no doubt.

Play every game like it's your last. Competition drives this guy. Ask MJ to play anything and I'm sure he'd act the same as cuz. Give me that fire all day.

Would be amazing if this years group actually took that approach cause last years did the exact opposite once Malone got fired.

Agreed. Some people thrive from negativity. It's not true, that every emotion on the basketball court needs to be positive.
Making dumb plays out of frustration is a problem. But outside of the usual T's Cousins did Ok in that regard last season.
And I couldn't care less about some T's.

Agreed the team quit by January. Honestly I prob would have too. But I think the vets will turn the attitude around at least initially. Fingers crossed.
Here is my problem with it....yes, it was a terrible call but it's a fricking scrimmage with referees that aren't even NBA refs. A great player in the league would probably just look at the ref and laugh or something but it's like he is so fragile that he has to make a huge scene about it. Grow up already!

Fragile? Are we talking about the same person?
A young man, who was doubted the moment he stepped onto a basketball court. Who still managed to become one of the best big man in the league. Who played through injuries and played through the fatigue following a serious illness. Who is loyal to his organisation beyond believe. Who never had trouble off the court. And who did his best to step up, when his team struggled.
Last attribute coming to my mind, when thinking about Cousins is fragile.
Driven, mature, tough, emotional leader....that's more my take on Cousins.

Dude needs to keep The Fire, but he also needs to learn how to control it. That's the difference between his emotions getting him ejected, and his emotions fueling him as he takes over a game. We've seen both.
I liken the fiery Cuz to a young Jedi. Until he learns how to control the force, the X-Wing is staying in the swamp!
So, change Cuz! But only a little....

It's been a long time (probably back to Vlade's days) that we've seen the Kings with "fire in their bellys"! I thank that with Cuz, Rudy, Rondo, KK (Kosta Koufos) and other veterans leading the way, we're going to see that. And the competition at several positions is going to improve everybody. And best of all, we're going to become a TEAM, as in US against Them. Even Vlade was out there coaching!!

If Sheed tried to play today he'd get the freaking death penalty. Can you imagine the social media fodder that guy would have generated?
Mature? Emotional leader? Those aren't things most experts around the league would label him as. His antics are very IMMATURE and I personally believe that one of his biggest weaknesses is that he's not a leader. IMO, leaders don't act like children when some non NBA ref makes a crappy call in a SCRIMMAGE. I liked what George Karl said when asked about DMC's emotions. He said that he felt that showing negative emotions on the court is a sign of weakness. I couldn't agree more. I get that it's going to happen from time to time over a long season but he has about 6-7 of these outbursts just about every game. It has to stop if he's going to take his game and the team to the next level.

People here claim it's Cousins playing with fire...that's fine and all but there needs to be a fine line between playing with fire and taking yourself out of the game by yelling at the ref and receiving technical fouls. His body language does get frustrating to watch if calls aren't going his way but that's not to say he can't channel his emotions and take it out on the opponent instead.
