I'm guessing that we signed him with no serious intention of having him compete for the final roster spot? I believe that there are still three guys on Exhibit 10 deals in camp (Burton, Nowell, Comanche - Lamb has also been released), but I suppose that the only reason that those three are still in camp is to provide preseason depth/compete for #15.
Obviously Skal does not have to join Stockton, but he (and Lamb) have Exhibit 10 money on the table if they do so.

Dang, no wonder they look so tired in the games haha.
I want Davion to be a passable offensive player so badly. We suck way too much on D for him to have such a small role.
I am pretty excited to see Monk-Huerter together. Hopefully a combo we actually see this year, glad it's getting some looks in practice.

if you want to get these players into playing condition, if I'm Brown I'd do boxing training once a week, hit the bag, speed ball and do some jump roping to add some variety
It's really unfortunate for Davion that both of our star's biggest weakness is shooting. He's never going to find more than 20mins a night on this team unless he becomes a knock down shooter.
That's an odd question.
Brown sometimes makes no logical sense.
"We're going to run until we can't run no more!"
"Also, 35 year old Javale is gonna be back-up C!"
For a coach that had such a sophisticated and modern offensive system, he's very stuck to "traditional" positions and basically never likes to go small

Teams can be successful in a variety of ways. A great offense with an average defense (ala Denver last year), an elite defense with below average offense ( ala 04 Pistons) a good offense with a good to great defense ( ala TD era Spurs). Seems like the Kings are aiming to be a great-elite offense with an average or close to average defense.

Brown still says pretty much everything that makes sense. I still don't think getting "skinny" on pnr will get you anywhere and is antiquated with the lack of perimeter contact allowed from defenders. Monte didn't build a switchable roster so Brown doesn't have a lot of options. Wonder why Duarte is getting such a guaranteed spot right away? Domas connection confirmed, haha. Brown must also see he's pretty much one of his only options to swing from G-F that can still knock down jumpers. Duarte looked better last game so there's that. Plus Huerter has been pretty atrocious. The playoffs shook Velvet, then the Beal offer might have led over to some resentment.

In tennis, players tend to be classified as "power players" (Djokovich) or "finesse players" (Federer). Last year's Sacramento Kings were clearly a finesse team. I just hope the emphasis on "physicality," reminiscent of basketball fifteen or thirty years ago, does not clash with the strengths of the players that are on the squad right now.

But what I was saying and I don't think you understood was that there are NO western conference playoff team that stood out as being better than any other western conference playoff team last season. There is no team this year to stand out either. We have just as good of chance as any other team to win it all, or at least make it to the finals. East conference teams scare me more.

I dont think Duarte is getting a guaranteed spot. I think Brown just wants to see what that lineup (and the subsequent lineup of Huerter off the bench) looks like against NBA competition.

Again, the last deadline deals made by the Lakers and the Suns might have changed that entirely and the initial results were both teams playing on while the Kings were home, so we'll see. I think we have to see the Suns and Clippers and what they do especially. So far from what I've seen out of the Suns they are indeed going for the super team strategy of taking 4-5 minutes of each half and absolutely destroying teams. It sucks, but if healthy, they're bumping quite a few teams down the line most likely. I think talent wise and size wise you have 4 teams that stand out in the Nuggets, Clippers, Suns, and Lakers. Then there's the Blazers, Wolves, Mavs, and Pels who all have talent but are question marks for sure. That said, it seems like the Kings are unique in the sense that they remain kind of focused on shooting while other teams went for size or talent.

but last season is done and over with. This season has yet to unfold so all we can go off of is offseason acquisitions and how they mesh together and how much will they continue to improve collectively.
