Trading up?

He can opt out at the end of next year too. His contract is loaded with ways for him to get out of it but the team he's on is stuck with him if they can't trade him... it's a bad contract for a team to trade for.

There is still a possibility that Garnett can be traded: (Glen Taylor says "never say never" http://www.twincities.com/timberwolves/ci_5716134 ). Although I don't see us having the pieces to outbid teams like Chicago.

For Bibby, I don't see him opting out of almost $15 million for his last year unless he's in a really bad situation.

If we could do a sign and trade of Artest for Gerald Wallace somehow, I would do that right away. As long as Artest thinks he's Kobe and trying to take over games, the Kings aren't going to be an elite team.

In full agreeance about trying to get Wallace back. I'd trade Artest for him in a millisecond. That dude is just awesome in about 100 ways, on and off the court.

McHale already said KG's off limits unless he asks out and he's going to try to put more guys around him. They're also supposedly working on a contract extension. Sorry.

McHale is full of ---t! By the time they build a team around him, he's going to 35 years old!

Not if they get guys like Bibby. Bibby+KG or another 2nd guy+KG and some role players is a contender though. And they can get vet 2nd guys with trading chips like their pick and Foye.

Who are they going to have to trade to get him? Would they give up their young pg and their #1 plus a filler to get Bibby? If they would, they would pass the desperation test. I would jump for joy! But then who would they have to trade for Artest? Nobody that I'd want. Then they would be left with Bibby, Garnett, and nobody. That team would go nowhere.

They don't have any...

Ricky Davis would be about 7 million of an expiring contract.

Minnesota needs another ELITE talent bare minimum on that team...they won't get that at #7 in this draft for at least 2-4 years, well past KG's prime.

Ricky Davis/#7 for Artest works both for us and Minny. Minny would be stupid not to consider it. I don't think they could get a better player for that package than Artest, warts and all.
