Trade W/ PHX

DesertFox

Starter
Thornton + Hayes for Dudley+Frye

SAC has got more than enough enough scoring, but not the kind it needs (spot up shooting). They also free up a little bit of cap room going from MT to Dudley.

PHX missed out on Gordon, a big time scorer (which they sorely need). Thornton is essentially Gordon with a little less defense. And with the addition of Scola/loss of Nash, Frye doesn't fit.

Starters: IT/Reke/Dudley/Trob/Cuz
Bench: Brooks/Salmons/JJ/JT
Spot Min: Jimmer/Garcia/Outlaw/Frye
DLeague: Honeycutt

Frye will essentally take Hayes spot, but is actually useful as a 4th big, because you can play non shooters together on the perimeter (like Reke+JJ or possibly bring back Twill).

Frye is a wuss and Dudley I believe played well because of the system he was in. I don't think it would match with what we are doing.

And what exactly are we doing? And if this team DID have a plan, how has it been working?

With IT/Brooks/Jimmer in the backcourt, and if MT/Evans will still be main guys, Salmons/Garcia will never be in the backcourt.
So between Evans/Salmons/Garcia at least 30 min at SF is accounted for. So JJ and possibly Outlaw will take the rest of those SF minutes, with some spillover at the 4. And there aren't exactly a lot of minutes available there either. The roster was having balance problems before, adding another shoo-first player limited to point guard doesn't help. This team needs to do something.

Dudley doesn't need the ball, has legit wing player size, and he plays D. He will fit in starting or off the bench. (Same with JJ). Frye is essentially the same level player as Hayes, except instead of man defense and passing, he will hit the 3 and block a shot or two. Sounds like a good trade off.
