Trade idea: GSW/Sac

Foyle for Kenny thomas.

Why warriors do it: Kenny can run and he improves their rebounding. He'd be perfect for Nellie's offense too.

Why we do it: Foyle is a pretty good shotblocker and rebounder for a 20 MPG back up Center. Has history with Musselman. He sucks on offense but oh well. Get rid of Kenny for a slightly shorter contract.

For all the people who want Reef to start, this would open up the spot for him.

Line up after:

Bibby/Price/Salmons
KMoney/Salmons/Garcia
Ron Artest/Williamson/Garcia
Reef/Mo Taylor/Artest
Miller/Foyle

Another thing: It seems like Garcia is in Musselman's doghouse. It's obvious he has talent. Should we trade him if he isn't going to get many minutes before the league forgets about his talent? Seems like he's not getting minutes.

This isn't a bad idea from the Kings perspective, although I it's a net talent loss for the Kings and wonder how much use Golden State would have for Kenny Thomas.

Also, until Garcia can prove he can shoot and play smart I don't know how valuable he is in trades.

Its an interesting trade idea and at first glance I thought it was a good idea. Then I looked at the stats and although Foyle is still a pretty good shotblocker he's not as good as he used to be. He's a slightly worse rebounder than KT too. KT is much, much better at offensive basketball.

All in all, I think we're a better team with KT. I'd amost be open to it just for the sake of the two years shorter contract though.

If GS were to throw in a 1st rounder or a young player into the mix then I might consider otherwise, no...downgrading talent for one need that will play minimal minutes is NOT a smart move. It doesn't really help contract situation either.

So overall not a good trade for the Kings.

This is actually a very good trade for the Kings. Overpaid mediocrity for overpaid mediocrity. Foyle's mediocrity fits the Kings better because he's got size and block shots, and he won't whine for sitting the bench. It also allows Maurice Taylor to move back to Power Forward, which is a better position for him than Center.

Absolutely. Taylor at Center is not ideal at all, then SAR could start which he deserves and we get the big we so desperatly need.

GET UR DONE GP!!! :D

Foyle's contract is shorterr and overpaid mediocrity for 1 year > overpaid mediocrity for several years

Plus the Warriors have a couple of "skill" type power forwards, in Dunleavy, Murrphy, who eat up minutes they're better keeping a banger who can occasionally eat up space and maybe block a shot here and there... doubtful they'd do this trade unless we threw in something with worth...

The Warriors, according to NBA front-office sources, are trying to buy out the contract of center Adonal Foyle, who played just six minutes in Golden State's first six games under Nelson and clearly has no role in Oakland given Nellie's preference for smaller lineups.

This is the first of four seasons left on Foyle's, uh, burdensome contract, with the 31-year-old due $37.4 million in that span ... but only $1 million of Foyle's $10.6 million salary in 2009-10 is guaranteed to make the actual value just under $28 million.

Personnel chief Chris Mullin has taken more shots for Foyle's original six-year, $51 million deal than any other move he's made -- and justifiably so -- but the Warriors insisted at the time that serious interest from Orlando and Milwaukee drove Foyle's price up.

Maybe we can pick him up if he gets bought out. He wouldn't have to move very far :)

I'd rather keep Kenny.

Foyle is quite a good bargain, actually--certified shotblocker at the very least, and fills a definite need. He lacks offensive skills and he's slowing down, but I think that the majority of it is because the Warriors are looking to get younger with Andris Biedrins, and have no real use for Foyle. I would make that trade--how many certified shotblockers are on the market anyway?

I agree with SacTownKid. I don't think getting Foyle would solve any problems; and if KT is going to continue to play he has recently it makes no sense to trade him away.

I don't like the trade at all, but if Golden State releases Foyle, he could be a nice addition for the veteran's mininum as our new back up center.

I woulnt trade anyone for Foyle if there think'n bout cut'n him... i would trade KT for alot of players but not this guy... if we could sign him after he gets cut. i would do that and then release Mo Taylor... Foyle would be a better backup center for sure...

Foyle's a big 7 footer who plays good D and blocks shots. And you and I know Kenny isn't going to continue to play this way. It's like saying "if my boss continues to give me a raise every month I won't need to find a better job"

Foyle isn't a big 7 footer. He is listed at 6'10" and looks to be closer to 6'8".

Still an incredible shotblocker.
